Tuning Need Assistance Identifying A Regulator Screw in Piece

Can anyone tell me what this circled part is called? I’m told that it limits the regulator piston’s outward motion. I’m trying to get more information on it. If someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

That is the piston. Between that and the body, there should be a small white plastic disc. That is what seals when the reg get to set pressure.

Are you sure? Here’s a photo of the piece by itself. Is this what you are referring to as the piston?

Below is a picture of where it screws into on the top of the regulator. There’s no white disc. In fact this part of the OEM regulator design differs from the factory regulator.

In communication with Huma-Air I was told that installing the small piece (screwing in) limits the piston’s outward motion. From that I inferred that without the screw-in piece, the piston could move out farther, ultimately concluding that this piece is not the piston.

The above pictured regulator is a Huma-Air OEM Brocock Bantam Sniper HR (mp).

I would think the piece below with the o-rings on it is the piston. The white piece you referred to is the delrin seat or something like that. All of these are internal parts to my understanding.

Correct me if I’m wrong please.

Looks very much like the huma reg for the impact. That brass thing with the 2 o ring screw into the body. It is what adjust the pressure. Inside the hole should be the piston with the white plastic disc, and that brass screw against it to seal. For the impact it would screw into the body until its flush. Then back out till you get the desire pressure. So should similar with your reg.

Yes that’s right. The threaded piece with the 2 o-rings is what I turn to adjust the reg pressure. So this isn’t the piston either? Looking into the hole that I unscrewed it from I can see the delrin seat (white disc) in there. I just haven’t figured out how to access these parts. I have to find a regulator diagram. I don’t know all of the parts.

Is your reg leaking or why do you need to open it up? Usually its only necessary to rebuild a reg only if its not working correctly. If it is, should leave it alone.

If you do need to open it. On the opposite side with the larger brass peice, that need to be taken out. Try screwing the small bolt into it, and then tie a string onto the bolt and pull it hard. It should pop out. That peice should have the piston with some bevel washers. They go in a certain order, so do not let them fall out or you might not know which order they go in.
