Need help deciding on a pcp

They are about 4.5 hours away, one way. I am at the most southwest of the state, about a hour from Vegas, so.

yea, i realize being half the price, equals half the gun, and having the best is nice. But at what price? Some of these prices are considerably more than a Bergara B14R that will reach over a 1,000 yards. I’m having a hard time justifying it. I really didnt want to get into a Turkey gun either. And these guns are not being used to put supper on the table right? Their adult toys.

This is one of my struggles, its also the reason I only have one powder burner any more. Just too much excess, guns i hadn’t shot for a decade, and finding ones I thought I sold.

The high end nothing needs done to them for the most part, their Ferrari’s. I’m more of the build the 68’ Camaro person I think. Plus with money saved I can get a pretty decent scope, a ching chong compressor.

but all black version

So any recommendations or similar at this price point?

For a higher end mid-placed cocking lever: FX wildcat hands down. Regulated, great design, accurate, great trigger, reasonable price all considered. Great refinement out of the box.

For a mid-priced gun with a superior build and good accuracy & unregulated shotcount, yes definitely take a look at the Krals. The walnut stocks are gorgeous, but the S versions are remarkably well built also, and lighter. Note that the Jumbo (bottle) platform has some ping until you add a reg or a depinger. The Krals are fine out of the box and surprise on the upside for their price range. Nice smooth cocking action and great 2 stage triggers. But they need some tuning to reach their full refinement, especially in .25.

Thanks, its what i ordered. Troy Hammer advised, and reassured me.

The Jumbo Dazzle is just a Super Jumbo in a different stock and interchangeable tanks. All parts are the same that are being used on current models and no issue if you need replacements. I'm in direct contact with Kral and can get parts if needed. No issues at all as far as future repairs and service is concerned. Just let me know if you ever need anything.

So I ordered the black Kral Dazzle (god I hate that name) I thought it is the best deal for the $, I also ordered a jing hung? Compressor, my bottle expired. $664 was the total for the Kral, gun, 2 mags, 2 500cc bottles, and case.

Hi,

I received the dazzle today, very disappointed, handle and buckle fall off opening the case, after opening no instructions, pullet the gun up and stock rattles, not even a synthetic, looks and feels like cheap plastic. Bendy material. Looking down the barrel only about a inch of the stock touches my shoulder. I could never find ANYTHING about ANY model that Kral has, no place to buy parts or anything. Too long, and front heavy. I informed Krale I am returning it, asked if i needed anything from them before i do.

i am willing to spend some more to get something better, should of just went with my gut and ordered a Vulcan or Cricket. I will keep everyone updated.

Hi @bowtieguy66, like @gurwery said, I am sorry that you are disappointed in the Kral. I have held them at Krale (I live in the Netherlands and the shop is about an hour & 30 mins away from my house) and I wasn’t impressed with the Kral guns. The Cricket is a sold gun and I asked the sales guy and they don’t move many compared to FX & Uragan. The sales guy at Krale told me some Kalibgrun Argus are coming in, when I don’t know, but I will ask them for you when I call Krale today to adjust an order. After I speak to Krale I will post what I find out.

HOWEVER, like I mentioned before, I see you live in Utah I, so take advantage and call the guys at Utah airguns and take a look at the Taipan standard or long, probably best for your needs in the Taipans for what the shop carries. UtahAirguns though does not carry Uragan nor Cricket. I am originally from Pocatello, Idaho so next time I fly into SLC I will head to UtahAirgun for a visit, and maybe a purchase.

Last week I received my Taipan Compact in 25 cal from a Czech dealer. When people say it is built like a tank they are NOT kidding, it is and with the DonnyFL Sumo moderate on there makes the Taipan SCARY quiet. I added the DonnyFL hammer spring adjustment knob and so I can adjust the power up and down on the Taipan with adjuster attached, no tools needed, as easy as turning a radio knob.

The Taipan’s magazines are made of metal as is the single shot train. My FX Impact’s magazine are plastic and the Brocock’s magazine is made of metal, but is complicated system and the single shot tray is made of plastic.

And if any brand has a solid following here it is Taipan, and now I see why. I am just waiting for the scope to arrive, which should be today, so I can see what the gun can do accuracy wise on a range.

I live about 6 hours from Utah Airguns, and another hour to Airgun Depot. I’m just at a hour from Vegas, the most southwest of the state.

And dont think I haven’t looked at all the bullpups, but they are all wood, this what I am looking for will be a brush gun. So I would prefer synthetic,, i use to like pretty wood stocks, and they look good sitting on the mantle, but their too delicate for the circumstances that my clumsy ass gets into.

Taipan, Kalibrgun cricket 2 and Argus I’m really liking, but wood. My choices are very few, only one is the Uragan. There is the Bricock, but $100 for a magazine? $1600 could turn into $2,000 buying 4 mags. No thanks!

I just hot to get the Dazzler back to the Netherlands first. I hope Krale will get me a shipping label, I got a quote today from UPS, and it is $700. A tad more than the $53 to be sent here.

Yeah this crazy **** about the magazines has got to stop. It's so exploitive of customers, and customers are supposed to be your friends, your recommenders, the people shouting to the skies about how great you are. Don't try to squeeze the last dime of them to the point where it's massive amounts of money for trivial things.

One of the things admirable about Crosman, whatever you think about them otherwise, is the moderate price and interchangeability of some of their magazines and stocks. The warranty, too, makes for a consumer-friendly company in a time when companies seem as much happily aligned against their customers as interested in the long term.

Not to be blabbing their praises or anything, but there is a lot to be said for a company that wants to be sure it sells to you as much as possible, and your friends via word of mouth, and your kids and grandkids too, versus one seeking a hit-and-run or your-word-versus-mine.

I checked out the power levels of the compact version, and they are VERY low for a modern air rifle, and don’t seem standard. For .177 is just over 14 ft/lbs and for .22 cal around 20 ft/lbs. The Taipan has even a shorter barrel and in .22 cal is at 32 ft, and I sure you can go higher. My .25 cal can go up to almost 50 ft/lbs with JSB 34 grain pellets and a consistent mid 40s ft/lbs with JSB 26 grain Hades.

@bowtieguy66 Best of luck to you with the return logistics. Good luck also with your Yong Heng. Recommendation: compress GRADUALLY each time when filling your gun, after switching it on. Decompress somewhat gently as well BEFORE switching off after filling. Use the pressure relief&drain valve screws for compressing & decompressing.

I am not enamored with the "tactical" look (Impact class) guns. They may be very accurate for bench shooting but they are high maintenance. And they hardly qualify as "utilitarian"-- not at all for throwing into the back of the truck or fighting your way thru the brush. In that case you may also want to go for a baffled shroud instead of a silencer. Hit a tree trunk with that, or drop it good just once, and your accuracy goes to the dogs.

If you don't want to go for the FX Wildcat and its reasonable cost (all considered), then also take a look at the SPA Artemis p10 in .25. Compact, accurate, flawless magazines. Ergonomic, great trigger with some tuning. Powerful & good quality build. Solid like a tank (titanium cylinder). Wood, yes -- but BEECH ! Contrary to walnut, maple, poplar etc. this is a HARD wood. You won't dent it so easily. Even if it shows its use after some time, you will be consoled by its reasonable price tag. You could even have it refinished when it starts showing its age, with many $$$ to spare.

Is it sexy? Yes, in a rugged kind of way. It is one heck of a mean shooter, would not want to meet it in a dark alley. The only things you need to do to make it into a high-class shooter is put 5-6 baffles into the shroud for silencing. I got those for 8 bucks. And perhaps replace the hammer retention pin on the pellet probe by a m5 allen bolt for smoother cocking. 🐦
