FX Need help for my fx ranchero

Hi guys, I just got my ranchero by a local meet up and it shoot very well. But there is a littel noise bothers me when I shaking it, so I took it apart and I see the hammerweight moves and the noise is from it. Any one know how to fix it? It doesn't affect use, but it can be annoying. Please see the photo and you can see the part. Thanks guys.

It’s suppose to free float. If you ever stop hearing that noise that’s not a good thing. That means your hammer weight has seized up inside the hammer probably from galling. Your chronograph will show you crazy extreme spreads, also, which will in effect show poor groupings on paper
Thanks for the reply. So you meant I need change a new hammer weight?

Yeah no problem. I’m always up at this time especially if I overdid it during the day with chores.

If one day your shots on target start going bonkers, and you notice your extreme spreads make no sense at all, tilt the gun up then down. Chances are the hammer weight seized up inside the hammer. If you want to be proactive in avoiding that inevitable, polish up the hammer weight with fine grit sand paper, especially the sharp edge of the larger base of the weight(round off the edge), clean off both parts with acetone, and burnish the inside of the hammer tunnel with a dry moly powder or graphite. Don’t overdo it, just a thin burnish coat so things slide better.

I’ve actually recently experimented using nickel anti seize on the hammer weight, just applying a very thin coat, and so far so good. Using any wet type lube is typically a no no on hammers and hammer weights as the weight in motion sliding on a grease can be inconsistent and affect your ES, but in my case it hasn’t.

Actually it is a fatal flaw. I’d get rid of that mess at once. Drop me a note and I’ll be happy to take it off your hands 😁. David

My hands are stupid and not good at repairing things. I often can't put complex things back together after disassembling them.

Ok, I understand now. Thanks a lot, especially for at this time. Just still can’t sleep after melatonin.
As long as you are poking around there, you might wish to lube everything, just a drop of good oil, I'm partial to Mobile 1 10w or Triflow, my motto is, if it moves it gets lubed. No Silicon, it's not for metal to metal.
