Need Help Setting Up My .30 Impact For Coyotes

I have a impact .30 700mm slug A liner and I really want to set it up for coyotes 100 yards and under but don't know where to start. What slug what weight what speed looking for some info so I know where to start. I am open to anything you can offer was out all day in 35° chasing speed and accuracy and I just want some information to have a goal or feedback from someone doing the same with success. Thank you.
 
I’m a newb as well. I’m not familiar with your rifle of choice and don’t know much about coyote hunting, BUT I did watch this informative video on coyote hunting with a PCP (.25 caliber I believe). I ran that A-liner with slugs and use the NSA 60 grain for best accuracy, with the settings maxed out, (without the power plenum but heavily modded for flow) and it will push them in the range of 910-20fps. However, different lengths and styles of slugs shoot differently in every Impact it seems. Buy a sample pack of slugs from NSA and a pack of targets, then see which ones your gun likes shooting the best. Get the four heaviest slugs selections from NSA and work down from there. Also, Varmint Knockers and other's make good swaged slugs so it wouldn't hurt to have a look at those also.

I have the .30 A-liner in mine as well. I have the power plenum, slug power kit, dual transfer port and a few other flow mods and I am getting 1020 fps with 43.8 gr NSA slugs and 65 grain NSA slugs are at 865 fps. Getting ready to do some harmonic fine tuning to see where the sweet spot is, but should be able to take a coyote out to 100 yards

Find the most accurate round pellet or slug. Aim for the middle of the neck. Look up urban coyote hunter on Instagram he has videos of him making the neck shot. DRT.

Body shots are a no go for me as you get too many runners and the hides are so thick they soak up the blood and leave no blood trail.

Really neck shot huh thought most guys were doing head shots. Is there a specific weight, fps or fpe I should try to stick around?

I’ve been testing the new .30 Superior Standard 1:23 Twist (it’s not a 1:26) and shooting the 44.5 gr Hybrids @ 1032 FPS. They almost fragment in Clear Ballistics Gel @ 100 yards and I’m getting MOA or better for accuracy. Reg @ 165 bar, max hammer spring & valve about 3 lines out.

It took about 100 shots to get the liner to settle down and become consistent. I’m getting one full mag (23 shots) on a 580 bottle before I hit the reg.

The BC is .102 which is the same as a 65+ grain .30 slug. With a 25 yard zero (scope height 3.2”) my holdover @ 100 yards is only 1 Mil.

Its pretty quiet with the factory shroud and a DonnyFL Ronin on it.

I have two MkII power Plenum Impacts...one with an M14 external plenum and the other with the original M1/8 external plenum.

Both are running 57mm hammer springs with the lighter valve springs with Delrin spacers on each end and the tiny rubber ball inside the spring.

One has a brass hammer weight that Ernest sent me and the other has the factory steel hammer weight.

The brass weighted one shoots @ 1032 and the other shoots @ 1016 (both at Max power wheel).

The steel hammer weighted one tops out @ 165 BAR...she loses about 20 FPS @ 170 BAR.

With my Power Wheel @ Min they both shoot 44 gr JSB pellets @ 880-890 FPS.

This has been the most accurate and consistent tune for my guns for true ‘cross platforming’ between slugs & pellets.
