FX need help to remove shroud cone on FX crown

Some are fairly tight. I use a rubber strap wrench to hold the cone end and turn the shroud by hand, and it will eventually come off. There's no loctite (at least not on mine), so no heat needed there.
Now if you need to remove the xfer port from the cone, it is loctited and you will need some mild heat to break it loose. You can use a piece of leather and vise grips on the port housing, up close to the cone. I heat it several seconds and then clamp on and remove it. It doesn't take much heat or very long at all.
Good luck.

I need to replace the shroud cone from the transfer port assembly on my FX crown due to stripped theads I am trying to figure out how to remove the old one . It appears to be either threaded on or pressed on . Any information is appreciated and thank you in advance .

It looks like Silent Thunder Ordinance (maker of Falx moderator) have posted a number of free STL files for download from their website.

One such file is a tool to remove the Crown’s shroud cone.

If you know someone with a 3D printer, they can print you the tool for future use.

If anyone decides to print the STO Crown Shroud Cone Tool I request that you make one for me.
I would be happy to pay for time, materials and other overhead.
And would also be willing to buy one outright from you if that is allowed by the designers at STO

You can reach me by PM

Thank you
Edward
