Need help with rifle decision.

My wife's Wolverine R is running 900 with 10.3s and is as accurate and reliable as anything we have had except maybe her RW HP 177. It's truly incredible w 16.1 gn Beasts at 950.

Looks to me like you've created a good solid list. RW's cycle quite slick and the triggers are lighter than the W R but after having both for more than a year, I kind of like the W R more. I guess the main reason is not having to reset it if you wait too long to shoot. I polished and adjusted her trigger and it's down below 8 oz and crisp but safe. It just shoots sooo pleasantly.

I've worked on a Sniper and a 110 but haven't shot either enough to judge them against the other 2. Both are well made and should be accurate and reliable .

Anyway , have fun with your shopping.

Bob

Listen to this guy. He really knows what he's talking about. No joke! Also, I personally own a W R and love it! It's the only rifle that has ever challenged for the position of "favorite rifle" in my collection.

P.S. I think I saw a W R just go up for sale in the classifieds as well.

Happy Shooting and good luck with your decision!

I saw that W R. I’m starting to think that over $2k is just too much for a .177 purchase considering I’ll still need to get a scope. If I was looking for .22 and up I would definitely go W R. But my Veteran .22 Shorty will put out 36 fpe and is almost too easy to shoot. I’m taking Daystate out of the line up.

I haven’t ruled out the Royale until I do some more research.

We’re down to the HW110 and the Sniper Mini.

Pros to the HW110 - superlative trigger, better mag, smoother cocking.

Pros to the Sniper - more adjustability, more shots per fill, more rugged look, will handle a bigger variety of pellet weights, can shoot slugs.

Very hard decision as a good trigger means a lot to me. As long as the Sniper has a crisp clean break on the sear I should be able to adapt.

Of the two remaining contenders, the Brocock Mini... Brococks are underrated, but they are really accurate, solid PCPs.

I own a Raw a brocock a Red Wolf a cricket a regal. I really like them all. If you are inside 50 yards I’ll promise you that they all will work wonderfully for you. My favorite. The RED WOLF is just so sweet to shoot. She’s the prom and homecoming queen. I hunt pigeons and am shooting out to 75 yards are so and now we are in RAW territory. The RAW is maybe not as sexy as the RW but she sure can cook. She has a little weight to her and in 30 cal she is a little thick thru the middle but man she hits hard.

All these guns mentioned are guns I’d be proud to own. You can’t go wrong. If you start wanting to shoot beyond 100 then you probably need to do some more research .. Honestly if you are starting out buy a used regal regulated for under 1k and be amazed. That’s all you really need

I'm not entirely sure about the hw110, but the HW100 is very adjustable.

The K version is a lot lighter than the full length too.

Much nicer than the hw110, to me at least.

Don't look at Ted's videos to assess performance on them either. First video was running too hot with light pellets and the second dumped way too far down in power to perform well.

I appreciate all the input to this thread. You guys have given me lots of rifles to think about. As much as I like the Brocock I just don't think it's going to join the stable in its current form. Trigger and the cocking mechanism are detractors for this platform and price seems too high comparing to alternatives. Daystate is awesome, but the internal adjustment reg and the $$$$ put it out of reach right now.

I have been looking, heavily, at the JSAR Raptor and the Raptor mini. Once some people get them in their hands and the forums get some feedback I may pull the trigger in that direction. It's one hell of a gun and the .257 and the .30 seem to be calling my name.

In the meantime, for my .177 sub 50 yard shooting I pulled the trigger on a Leshiy. For poops and giggles I also picked up the .30 barrel to see what type of power and shots I can get with it.
