Diana Need information about PCP hand pump

Hello everyone
I just got my first PCP gun "Diana BANDIT" I really like it but it's a little louder than my co2 chaser but much more power
But now here's come filling the gun
I am really on tight budget so I discovered there's hand pump for PCP
I am start looking here and there so I found Chinese pump that cost around $40-$60
And branded pumps cost over $150 to more than $300
I also read about 4 stage 3 stage
But I came across to one of cons of PCP hand pump is that since they contain oil and water sometimes the pump will create moisture and it may leak with air and get inside the gun
Okay is there any way to avoid this? I mean my bandit is small tank only 50cc and I saw YouTube video he fill his pp800 ( bandit same gun) only 24 pump to fill from 100 to 200bar
So what causes of leak water from the hand pump?
Or suggest me PCP hand pump for under $100 and with acceptable quality or at least fill my gun 150 times (24×150 times=3600 pumps 🙂)

Hand pumps make air tubes explode...according to Edgun.
Haha not sure we wanna tell someone who is new to PCP that! Sure they can but idk how you'd overpressurize you'd think it'd be easier to leave a compressor running and BOOM not but hand pumps lol

You should just get a cheap hand pump like a Four Uncles from Amazon or other no name from ebay etc.

I have a 4 stage hand pump but that's because I fill an Avenger to 4,000 psi. You wouldn't need a 4 stage for the little reservoir you have and at the lower pressure.

4 stage = less effort to pump but takes more pumps to get same psi
3 stage= more effort to pump but takes less pumps to get same psi. You arent pumping super high psi and this will work for you.

To keep water out you need to make sure to get a pump with a filter and also when you pump try to be somewhere with low humidity and then once the gun is full you quickly open the bleeder valve and that will shoot the moisture out. After that you can occasionally take apart the pump to get any extra moisture out.

Your air reservoir is so small on that gun it shouldn't be a big deal to hand pump and not much water will get in.

Normally if you have a bigger cylinder and pump longer or use a compressor it would have more chance for water to get in since you'd be filling for longer.

Lots of folks use the Amazon 60$ pumps .

Your moisture is more likely from the air being pumped compressed ( humidity) ..

If you look some of the cheaper hand pumps have a filter thing that comes with it or one can be bought separate to add on ..

I'd just look at the Amazon handpumps in your price range that have the most user reviews pick one like 4 uncled for example and use it ..

Also check YouTube vids on any you like .

I've spent big money on brand name hand pumps. Have had Logun, FX 4 stage, etc, etc. I now use a compressor, but keep a cheap $40 Ebay pump for a backup and have used it for years. It's outlasted the 'brand name' pumps and does the job just as well.

That same pump even came with a rebuild kit, but for $40, if it breaks, I'll just buy another. Would never spend a premium on a pump ever again.

Doffy,
Welcome to the forum, plenty here willing to help. Many high pressure air (HPA) handpumps will contain coolant but it's sealed so no worries getting to gun. Like Hateful said, moisture will come from compressing air. Cotton-filled filters can absorb moisture and oil, but some will likely get through. Avoiding generating heat, as much as possible, while hand pumping will help best. Searching the archives for "hand pumps," should provide tips for "cooler" pumping. Best of Luck, WM

Owned them all (handpumps) the 1st yellow (LEMON) Hill. Horrible indeed. Next Hill better, 1st & 2nd gen FX, good enough units. Not a thing wrong with the "$50.00" hand pumps. Heck better than the 1st Hill by a long shot!
Just in case you not been there yet do check the forums section on fill units: https://www.airgunnation.com/forums/tanks-pumps-compressors.23287/

Esp. in your case, few pumps per fill. Do not hesitate to use one. Heat and moisture relate highly with each other. At least on the rig you mentioned you will never heat a hand pump. Filling a Career Ultra or such (500cc & massive air use) stop, bleed and let cool with handle up every 50 strokes.

Thank you very much for this information. Yeah as you said my air tube volume is small only 50cc and 2900psi (200bar) so the idea is pump my gun indoor btw I live in desert no humidity barely 12-17%

How to avoid this from happen I mean generate heat that causes moisture get through gun?? not pump to much times ? Let the pump cool? Or separate pumps( like 10 pump then stop 10 minute then 12 pump) ? My Diana BANDIT already need 22-24 pump from 100bar( yellow) to 200bar( between green and red)

Thank you sir for this helpful information really appreciate
Yeah that's what I need to know I mean my Diana bandit only 50cc and I saw video he filled his bandit with $50 Chinese 3 stage PCP hand pump with 23 strokes (from 100 bar to full 200 bar) so in my case I should not worry about risking my new gun of getting water inside the air tube? And one more thing please from your experience
Okay let's say I bought the $50 hand pump
How long will serve me I mean let's say my gun need 24 strokes every time is need fill
So can this $50 will give me 100 times or (24 strokes per fill ×100) =2400 strokes? Is it possible considering I will take care of the pump not over heat or more strokes and apply lubricant like silicone oil every 5 uses or so

Well look them over , I just used that one for a example . Hiram , tuxing , probly as good. There's repair and rebuild vids to look at that show the pumps tube cooling fulid to service if ever needed and so on ..

I think you'll be alright on one ...

Good luck.

You're welcome, glad to share. Find best hand pump rhythm (number of pumps to cool-down period) to keep outside of pump as cool as possible, understanding compressing air will generate heat. I added a $14 eBay cotton-filled (tampon-style) filter to help smaller cotton-filled one that came with pump. WM

So with my rig I should not be worrying about risking my new gun getting water or moisture inside since my gun only 50cc 200 bar I keep low strokes count only 24
