N/A Need some help deciding on new PCP build. FX King.

In the recent year I’ve evolved from break barrel, to very entry level pcp. I’ve always had firearms, just now adopting air rifles.
currently I have a Airmaks Katran C “dark camo” in .25

looking to step up to the FX King. i have 1 acre of property in corona, CA and will use my .22 or sometimes my .25 with thermal scope for pest. I have around a dozen fruit trees that the rats love, I also get gophers that seem to come in batches. In additionalply I do hunt coyote, squirrel and rabbits hunts with a .308 or 17hmr rifle or .22LR rifle. Looking to replace this with the FX. I would probably keep my ATN Thor thermal scope on this rifle.

current undecided questions.
1. .30 or .35???? Is the difference that substantia

2. 500 or 600mm barrel. The 600 is setup for slugs. I see all this hype about slugs, are they worth it? I would not try to interchange between pellets and slugs, I would set the rifle up, tune it and leave it as is and shoot the same ammo type.

3. my .25 Katran gets about 1 1/2 magazines per fill before the pressure affects accuracy. I would like to have a way higher shot count with the FX King. Was considering having a 700CC bottle swapped on to achieve this. Thoughts?

4. the Nordic wolf color has my attention but the brown loops very appealing also. Thoughts?

I have a .22 Panthera and a.25 King. Both are phenomenal. I have the Panthera in a 700 mm barrel and a 600mm barrel on the King. Both shoot slugs incredibly well. If I could only have one it would be the latter because it is so much better to handle. The Panthera is an amazing bench rifle.
What kind of shot count are you getting on the King in .25? I have a .22, .25, was thinking .30 for the extra knock down. Sometimes me and my brother backpack with no way to refill so I’d like to see 50 plus

thanks

I am getting between 50 and 60 shots shooting the ZAN 37, H&N 46 Heavy Slugs , and Alteros 50 Gr slugs (still testing for the best combo but all three doing really well) between 75 and 80 fpe. I can’t imagine needing .30. These rifles are devastatingly deadly to small to mid size varmints with well placed shots.
Would be less sizes of slugs and pellets I have to buy if I go the .25 route! Appreciate the input!!!

In terms of killing power (damage in tissue) .357 is at least 90% more powerful than the .30 Cal.

.30 Cal is about 65% more powerful than the .25.

Bigger calibers give less shots per fill than smaller calibers. Ammo is increasingly more expensive with bigger calibers.

Decide what you want to do with your rifle.

.25 is enough for raccoons.

.30 Cal is enought for coyotes and javalina.

.357 Cal is super appropriate for deer.

Appreciate the info Emu! I think I’m going to cap it at coyotes, anything larger and I’ll have to use a powder gun!
