Need tips for Daisy 901

Getting a new Daisy 901 Powerline soon, Im somewhat new to this air gun stuff and I have several questions.

1. Does the amount of times I pump the gun matter? What does pumping the gun more do?

2. Does it hold multiple bbs internally in the gun, similar to the red ryder? Or do I have to load each round individually?

3. Can I use standard .177 bbs or do I have to use specific rounds like hollow point for example.

4. Is a scope recommended for simple shooting at targets in my backyard (my backyard isn’t that big, but still decently sized), or should I just use the regular irons on the barrel, or is it simply preference?

5. Can this gun be used for unwanted pest control? (Rats, mice, moles, etc.)

6. I have no idea what plinking means, is that just shooting at targets for fun?

7. That’s all for now, if I have more questions I’ll update the thread.

1. More pumps = more compression = more power when taking the shot. 901 goes 10 pumps max tho. PS on 901 you have to cock 1st then pump otherwise it dumps the air

2. Yes. It has a magnet on the tip of the bolt which holds the BB in place so it doesn't roll down your barrel. You just cock and it will kind of roll a bb to the magnet from the reservoir when the bolt is back all the way.

3. Your lingo is mixed there. Yes to .177 size. However BB only comes in sphere. But you can use. 177 pellet of any shape but single loaded. To shoot pellets either don't load any bb in the reservoir or you have to carefully cock the bolt back but not ALL the way otherwise it loads a BB on the magnet tip.

4. This is preference but my friend who owns the 901 put a scope on. It is an accurate gun with pellets he has 3-9x 40 Amazon cheap scope. You just need to keep in mind the loading area is small and so having the scope makes it more difficult to load a pellet. BB doesn't matter cause again that'll auto load.

5. Yes. Used for squirrels mainly so those smaller things no problem. Idk if I would do any bigger than a squirrel. Also range for kill is probably 30 yards max just cause on those you want headshots. So this is where you want a scope probably

6. Yep plinking means shooting for fun, typically it means at things like empty soda cans or whatever and maybe some metal targets like this one https://www.amazon.com/Crosman-Squirrel-Reset-Target-Metal/dp/B01786GBW4/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=6R0WP5N8U8I7&keywords=squirrel+target&qid=1692495567&sprefix=squirrel+target,aps,143&sr=8-3

7. Okay if you have more questions let me know I'm not a 901 expert but I have torn it all apart and replaced parts to make my friends work again and also shot with his. It's a good gun I like the power and accuracy.

Also if you need it quieter check this out
