New 2021 Athlon Optics product announcements

On facebook Athlon is rolling out new product announcements daily, it started on the 7th and ends the 11th.

I LOVE the new "all .2 mil" APRS6 reticle offering in the NEW 2021 Ares ETR 3-18x50! There's a new MOA reticle too. Supposedly, at least listed in the specs, is 10 yard minimum focus parallax. That's a real win for we airgunners! The current Ares ETR 4.5-30x56 is already a very exceptional scope with superb build quality and is offered in the APRS6 now too. I'm sure the 3-18 will excel.

The Cronus BTR Gen2 also has the new APRS6 "all .2 mil" reticle, YAY!!!

They have a new Ares ETR 1-10x24 with a nice reticle as well.

A 1x prism sight, 1 mile range finder, rings, Ares BTR Gen2 2.5-15x50 and Ares Spotting scopes, etc.

Great news and of they can lower the price like the Bushnell Match PRO then it would be a hot ticket item. Surprised the Ares Version of the Bushnell Forge 6-18x50 wasn't available earlier when Bushnell launched theirs.

Being a small Co I think Athlon has had to test the waters over a period of time as far as capitol invested and what they perceive the market desire is. They've been wetting their feet so to speak.

I have no idea what products Athlon will discontinue and blow out at a greatly reduced price like they did with the Ares BTR a year ago or so, or the Cronus recently???

Yeah, if the 1-10 had SF. Would be great for airgunners. Of course, the parallax does not seem too bad in this type of scope until you get to the max power end. I have a bushnell 1-8 & the Swampfox 1-10. Still would be happier if they had SF. March has it.

WHY are you monkeying around wasting your money and not buying only March scopes? They are superb!

I have had a couple. One I loved and the other not so much. But never had their 1-10.

And so does Athlon in their Helos. Was hoping that a company that has already put side focus on a LPVO would expand that to other models.

Speaking of parallax and LPVO's, have you looked to see how easy it would be to adjust the parallax/objective ring on your Swampfox?

I did move the objective lens on my 1-8 Bushnell. So it is now spot on at 35 & good at 20 & 50. The Arrowhead, can't be moved. I even sent it to a scope tech & they mailed it back w/o even trying. I asked swampfox if they would change the parallax to 40 yards and they said no. From the factory the parallax seem to be more noticeable in the Swampfox than the bushnell. I really did not need to adjust the bushnell, just was trying to get it more precise. I mean I could of lived with it. However the swampfox is nice optics. If it had side focus , I would pay 1000 for it.

Was hoping this would have adjustable parallax like their 1-4.5x24 Helos. Will look forward to see what they announce tomorrow. Thanks for posting.

Responding here to everyone, yes I have suggested a few times to Athlon to put a side focus that adjusts parallax free down to 10Y in their other 1-?x24's. But I have zero control as to what comes of my suggestions.

Steve what is your opinion on small diameter objective, low power scopes having less parallax error? This is a comment I see occasionally, albeit mostly on centerfire discussion sites. I know a few posters here use premium LPVO's on their airguns and report minimal parallax/focus issues.

I believe you have posted on the Helos 1-4.5x24 in the past.

Have you compared this on low magnification to a similar or higher quality LPVO without side focus?

Just moved into a new house with a rabbit problem. Would like something with less magnification than either of my 2x minimum scopes. While I don't mind the price of the Helos I'd prefer it to have more magnification.

I can afford a March but just can't justify it with how little I'm shooting nowadays.

Yeah, if they had, PCP bullpup owners would have snatched them up, like beer at a party. It is what we want...

This Shepherd scope is listed as 10 meters to infinite.

But if you go the company's home page it isn't listed under their specs as having side focus. At least the last time I checked.

I didn't follow up with Optics Planet as I didn't think I could ever get used to that reticle.

Scouty, some of the info on these scopes is off. I actually bought a high dollar scope recently, the description showed a scope with illumination & SF, the picture showed illumination & SF. When I was talking to the sales person I ask does this scope have illumination & SF. He went & got one and said yes. I got the scope a week later. The scope had illumination and no SF. They did not want to take it back. but after a few go arounds , they did. I just seen another scope say it has illumination on the retailer's site, but does not show it on the company spec or pictures. So check & double check, & ask if you can return. w/o hassle.

Uhh, you guys really need to check out the new Helos Gen 2 scopes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL of them!

It's crazy the scope offerings they put out! And with new reticles! Especially for someone like me that wants a thicker mil reticle in a compact FFP hunting scope like the new 2-12x42!!!!! I'm truly impressed!

I also like the Helos BTR Gen2 4-20x50 with the new APRS6 mil reticle AND 10 YARD FOCUS!!! Not too long or heavy either.

A new Helos 1-10x24 as well.

Things are looking up for Athlon!!!

To say they have knocked out it of the park is an understatement!
