Tuning New 2260 Valve, Damage on valve face

I had allot of troubles with the stem seals on Crosman valves back in the day when I was making my valves. Almost like they sent me nasty rusty and cracked ones on purpose. The material is soft and hard to deal with. The only way I have been able to fix them is put the them on a lathe with a nice sharp parting tool bit.

I would contact Crosman they have been pretty good with that kind of stuff for the most part and may just send you one out rather than replace the whole gun.

If you are lucky and have an X-acto Knife or nice new razor blade you may be able to lay it up against the brass and spin the stem on the table to slice it evenly all the way around. It won't be easy though.

Almost fergot if the damage is not too severe you can put a dab of polishing compound on the sealing surface put the valve together loosely and then chuck the stem in a drill hold onto the valve body and spin the stem a bit. Check and clean it often until you get rid of any leak.

I thought about heating them up as well but have not tried that as yet.

I was going to offer you one of mine but none of the three I have on hand, with the piercing pins still intact, are all looking good either.

Good luck
