New .35 FX Tensioned Slug Barrel

Hey guys I am writing this to share the good news about my new FX .35 cal. Tensioned Slug Barrel Kit and related discoveries yesterday. First let me tell you that FX has hit an absolute homerun clear out of the park with this new slug barrel, and I sincerely hope everyone of you that wants to shoot slugs with your Impact gets one of these for yourself! It was designed to shoot slugs not pellets...and it shoots slugs the way we have all wished for and dreamed about for a long long time. It is true that the carbon fiber sleeve on this new tensioned slug barrel keeps it extremely stiff and rigid, even with my gigantic DonnyFl Emperor Suppressor on it!

Yesterday my .35 Impact MKII I call Elsa shot the Nielsen 93gr Hollow Point slugs at 970 ft/s which is 194 fpe…and the photos below will show the accuracy. Also she shot the FX Hybrid slugs at 1065 ft/s for 171 fpe, and then at 1000 ft/s for 152 fpe. The Hybrid slugs like this new slug barrel best at around 1000 ft/s & under for extreme accuracy. At 1065 ft/s the group at 50 yards measured 1 1/4" center to center...okay for hunting but for target shooting one hole fun shooting them at 1000 ft/s or less is best.

I refer to accuracy two ways - one I call "hunting accuracy" which usually means sacrificing some accuracy for lots of power; and the other I call "target accuracy" which usually means turning down the power in order to get one hole target accuracy. Once in a great while I am able to find a projectile that will allow me to shoot it with a ton of power and one hole accuracy... and that's what happened with the Nielsen 93gr slugs out of this new FX Tensioned Slug Barrel! :)

I am including a couple photos of the results I got with the Nielsen 93 grainers and the FX Hybrids yesterday, and I am including a link to a couple videos from my YouTube channel for you - one demonstrates how to use tape wraps on the barrel under the carbon fiber barrel sleeve, and the other is from when testing this new slug barrel yesterday. I give this new FX Tensioned Slug Barrel my highest recommendation, and especially want to share my excitement about how fantastic the Nielsen 93 grain slugs performed out of this new barrel. I ordered four more boxes of them today, and also one box of the 79 grainers to try out in this new slug barrel. Make sure you order the Nielsen slugs in size .358 for this new slug barrel and you will be glad you did!

All the best, Chuck

Looking good so far! Did you slug the barrel? I am very pleased with this FX Impact M3 700mm Sniper I have been shooting with NOE cast slugs. Sometimes I get tighter groups with the NOEs than with FX/JSB ammo. Sometimes the JSB wins. The NOEs cost me nothing vs 12 to 15 cents for the factory slugs and I enjoy casting them. If I end up buying an FX, I might get a 35 cal in addition to 22 and 30 cal barrels and will cast my own slugs using NOE molds.

What is the reason the 35 cal is not available for Maverick? Could it be fitted with machining or is it not physically possible?
I have never seen the guts of an impact but my maverick after the valve only has 7mm chanels for airflow being short of the 9mm internal barrel creating a bottleneck. Don't know if there is one for the impact though.
