There were four defects on the MAX that I discovered and reported to Travis Whitney, who is the T in JTS.
.) The stocks were inletted too deep and tightening the stock bolt resulted in bending the receiver and pinching the mags. A printed filler was sent to me to fix this.
.) The hole in the side of the hammer guide tube that allowed the air to pass from the tube to the outside was blocked by the wooden stock. I had to carve that out to get the hammer to fall freely.
.) The shrouds were banana shaped and were not square at the ends and the threading was very sloppy. I chucked my shrouds up in my lathe and squared them and straightened them as best I could.
.) There was a 1/2X20 UNF adapter attached to the End of the shroud but it didn't align well to the barrel and people had clipping issues with external moderators. This was solved by JTS by permanently bonding the thread protector to the adapter making it impossible to attach a moderator.
