New backyard range with backstop

We have finally settled into our new house and I had to get my priorities set first. And that was to get my shooting range up first, LOL. Still have boxes to unpack but…….
Was not able to get a full 50 yards but I'm OK with 48. My wife had to be in the city but I was able to find a place with no one behind me, which is short of a miracle. FYI the house in the background is across the highway and a good 300 yards. Spent about $50 on lumber and hardware for a backstop and have filled some boxes with rubber mulch for extra measure. Shot this .426 in group ( if I stopped at shot 4, would have been under .3 in.) this morning with my .22 Marauder with a Marmot barrel.

Very nice shooting and backstop! I am about to look into having some "snail trap" style bullet boxes made. I live on some acreage so there's plenty of room, but I'd like to contain and recycle as much of the lead as possible. I like this design-

Hopefully I can get it done without breaking the bank.

PS here are some 50 yard groups from my Gen 1 Marauder .22 with stock barrel.

John,
I have used one before and it is quite noisy so have muffle the sound with the rubber mulch. It's always good to recycle but don't want the neighbors to complain either.
Thanks for the tip.

PS- nice groups I'm a little jealous yours was right out of the box. This marauder is shooting great with the Marmot barrel, HUMA regulator, and Motorhead tune!. Over half my groups this morning were under 1/2 in (counted 6 groups). At 50 yards it is shooting par with my .22 Cricket

I'm using a sheet metal trap that fits in an old galvanized horse feeder now and I can live with that much noise. If the heavy steel is too loud I'll put something on it to help muffle the sound. I read about the MM barrels and was even considering getting one for my rifle, but I'm pretty happy with what I have. The guy I got it from has it tuned for a low pressure fill and tuned the trigger very skilfully-it was about two ounces when I got it, I bumped it up to about 8 oz. I also put an aluminum band around the shroud to stabilize the POI. If only it was two pounds lighter......

Thanks Sam. Already talked with both neighbors and they are both hunters so I'm good (what are the chances of that anymore). If I'm sighting in a scope, I will probably head to the range or desert. With the rubber mulch, 4 in lumber, and cinder blocks, I don't think anything will leave the yard. Everything behind the wall is a good distance off as well.
