New Break Barrel-Horrible Accuracy

As already has been said, Consistency of hold is the key to shooting springers. Look up artillery hold for springers and try and follow what they say to do. I start shooting springers back in the early 90's and had never heard of the artillery hold so I just used the military type hold where the sling is wrapped around my arm and learned to shoot that way after many 1000's of pellets.

Oh, and I forgot to say started out with a RWS Diana m34 in .177.
This is not to disagree with your post, but my experience with both my gas piston and springer air rifles are that it seems to depend more on the individual gun than the way the shooter holds it, I have several of my air rifles that shoot much better when some version of the artillery hold is employed, my Hatsan mod. 95 ,22 cal. and my Ruger Impact Max are two of them, my HW-80K and Crosman Vantage NP like a light hold, My newer Beeman R-7 and R-9 are not hold sensitive, nor are my GAMO Swarm, or my vintage Sheridan Blue Streak, each are individuals that require more intimate knowledge of what each likes, which makes it difficult at times to remember which one likes what, I really don't need another challenge, but it's allot more fun than nursing a hangover.

I have six magnum springers. I've noticed over the years just float the gun. Almost like your not holding it. A super light hold will do wonders.
I'm holding this 135 .30 and I shoot it very accurately at 40 yards constantly.

Lay rifle in palm, light grip on stock, light hold on shoulder. Depending on the gun your palm may need to be closer or further from trigger guard..

Break in the rifle with cheep pellets. Then experiment to see which pellets it prefers.

Busy shooting? Maybe Getting that break in period done 👍

I guess to new air gun folks that nre out of the box and experance can be discouraging . How many just get frustrated and give it up i wonder?

Lol that’s not totally true 🤣 I have a hole gaggle of HW’s a Diana’s. A Man has a Weak moment an buy’s 1 Hatsan is labeled 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My hatsan is pretty great for me.
(Mod25 Supertact QE)
It's my 2nd one.
1st one bear trapped and I send it back for warranty.
This one is from the newer batch and actually exactly what I wanted when I got it.
Compact .22 springer.🤷‍♂️
Beat my sister's husband's Gamo rifle in a friendly target shoot off 🥴
He claims his scope wasn't sighted in...
Mine WAS for sure🤣🤙
We were shooting about 40 yards and at the time I was sighted for 50. One dot hold under and I was on it everything after I figured that out(bout 3 shots).
It's a bear to cock but man it's fun!🤗

I wasn't referring to anyone enjoying their Hatsans -

More like say, co-workers that hunt, own firearms, but scoff at spending one penny more on a pellet gun than they would for the cheapest rimfire available at Wally World.

Off topic I suppose.
Also dont realize that extra door a air gun opens . Like are you getting .22 rims for 7$ 500 count ? ( here last i looked and bought was $12 for 50 box) Can you shoot without alarming or disturbing folks from all day shooting? Or needing lots of backstop in areas to stop the .22 rim? Plus i still hunt small game and most times my shot dont spook near as badly.

Just the off the porch or backyard plinking offered from a good air gun your just not getting with any pb gun . Ya you can get some but.....

But still in there eyes its a toy gun for a kid

I took the opposite path. My first springer was an HW98.😀

This is excellent advice. Modifying my hold and going with a light grip on the rifle, letting it "float", did wonders for my accuracy and consistency with my springers. I found the light hold especially effective with my Diana 48.
