New DAR .22

This is my bench rest rig...Normally i would also use a rear bag but I need a new one so I've been just shouldering the DAR and groups have been so so.

I used that scissor lift in many bench rest events along with my budget air rifles at the time...lol All my air rifles are "budget" guns (under $500).

Group below is 3/4" (5 shots) from 26 yards...I use to have a target setup at 85 yards behind my house but we had a fire on the hill and I have not replaced it yet. It is at about a 5 degree angle shot from my bench but holdover is minimal....

No snags as yet...just need a compressor before my arms drop off.

Went to adjust trigger but the adjusting screw is so tight the hex key is "torquing" so did not want to push it. Will get some proper wrenches Friday.

I'm not use to a quiet air rifle...Use to shooting my Discovery .22 and HPA 850's. I'll get some noise readings tomorrow...I have a good dosimeter.

Accuracy is good. I've been shooting using a scissor jack with butt to my shoulder. That plus my stiff trigger (3.8 lbs) is making one holers tough to get. lol.

Ordered a Center Point 4x12x44 Spectrum FFP scope on sale at Air Guns of Arizona this AM on sale $139. Can't believe PA wanted $199...crazy.

Not a big negative with me, but the coating on this rifle stock will be prone to chipping, nicks etc.

I plan on eventually sanding and re-coating with Formby's Tung Oil Finish.

I've done two other stocks (Disco, Sheridan) and they have held up good for 10 years.

IS it THIS ONE? IT RETAILS FOR $199 THATS TRUE AND BEEN $90 DIRECT FROM CROSMAN FOR A WHILE NOW.

CANT BELIEVE AOA WANTED $139...CRAZY!

You better off with THIS ONE... RETICLE IS MORE USEABLE FOR AIRGUNS THAT FFP ABOVE RETICLE MAKES NO SENSE TO ME WHATSOEVER IMHO...RECOMMENDED THIS EXACT ONE BELOW WHICH RESULTED IN MANY HAPPY AIRGUNNERS... HERE...

Made in China.

They saved weight by shorter barrel

Mass in stock/barrel

Yeah,I had to look that up to find out where they were made yesterday. It seems the only downfall with Chinese made PCP rifles is although they have gotten a lot better at making air guns over the years, they all seem to use the cheapest O-rings there is. It would only probably cost them a few more dollars to use top grade O-rings. I know they listen To customers and improve on their airguns but still use those cheap O-rings.But I have heard that your particular rifle is very easy to work on which that is good.

does anyone know if this will shoot slugs? i ordered the .22 and already had a bunch of slugs that my previous gun didn't like.

Reports of the 177 is shooting Nick's 12.5 grain slugs really well. The .22 is only pushing 16 grain pellets at 9-920 fps. To shoot the slugs it will probably have to be turned up some. There's a good possibility it will with the lighter slugs if you can turn up the reg and juice it up a bit.
