New Daystate DELTA WOLF is HERE!

Seems you're basing your concerns and opinions on a lack of understanding of this and other daystate electronic guns.

Daystate make exceptional quality guns and drawing parallels with what I can only assume are groups like Crosman and Daisy is pointless. Nothing they've put out suggests that they're suddenly, randomly planning on releasing a junker.

They have been putting out electronic guns for over a decade now and they are extremely reliable with even the old mk3's I've seen running strong without much more than an eventual battery change being necessary. Not like we're all waiting for our other electronic devices to randomly die?

The electronics on this are just an evolution of the red wolf, with the previously external programmer now inbuilt with a proper UI. It's just now has the added benefit of a mechanical reg to further aid consistency and efficiency, also nothing especially complex. If anything it ought to increase longevity by reducing the strain on the electronic hammer and valve by reducing working pressure.

Even the in shroud chrony is nothing new, having been inside the MVT Airwolf many years ago already, where it worked brilliantly, allowing for setting a specific velocity as well as providing a feedback loop to keep things set perfectly. If you've read you'll see they've specifically addressed all of the small issues the previous chrony had in the new design.

Regarding the question of a moderator, the chrony is inside the shroud. The moderator screws onto the shroud like any other shrouded gun. Nothing unusual.

The regulator is a totally separate part, inside the gun and has nothing to do with the chrony/shroud. As for a saucer, I can only assume that's autocorrect for silencer?

So you can see they've done nothing heavily experimental here. Just taken all the best parts of their previous gunsand combined them. The updated electronics will allow for fine and absolutely repeatable tuning. It's the sum of the parts that looks to be groundbreaking.

I for one am excited to see these out and about in some peoples hands. I don't think they'll disappoint.

Agreed.

It's going to be awesome to see them eventually released.

Corona really did a number on their whole release plan all the way from the initial announcement to all these delays. Got to feel sorry for Daystate really. Two years+ of design, testing and planning, then the proverbial lightning bolt from the blue just smashes it all to bits. Hopefully they can get things back on track and the guns shipping out soon. Without cutting any corners of course.

Daystate heralded an abundance of power with a new valve and 35 cc plenum, that valve is not balanced. They have not yet matured...I was disappointed in them

.177- 23 fpe

.22- 39/65 fpe

.25-78 fpe

.30- 98 fpe

Isn’t that similar power levels to the safari? I’d think the advantages of the regulated system is that you’d have a lower ES and possibly a higher shot count. I’d also imagine tuning would be easier to tune since you’re working with a known pressure every time.

? You're disappointed in them ? You don't specify what pressure those powers are at....2000 psi? 3000 psi? Huge difference between the two. Not that I care, that power is acceptable for the respective calibers. Balanced valves are not needed in small bores and when designed with elegance. Whats so special with a balance valve when you have an electronic trigger anyhow? Whats the benefit? Before you say less recoil from hammer, again its electronic, and you can't argue recoil from hammer systems that produce 1/100th of the energy the gun puts out...so I am sincerely confused as to specifically why you're disappointed.

I'm feeling really old right now---I truly miss guns that looked like guns...figured walnut, balanced, and graceful with a hand fitted elegance that seems to elude CNC machines. I have an AW MCT which while greatly improved by a heliboard I have no idea what the POI will be from day to day. I like a gun that will shoot tomorrow to the same POI it did last week. We as shooters are really a diverse group. I will shoot anything from sling shot to artillery. I know some bench rest guys that if there was no such thing as bench rest they would probably not own any guns. I've met trap shooters who are much the same. For some it is an art, others a science. New guns look very much like they are designed for a generation who grew up on legos as opposed to previous generations who had to fabricate. A well tuned Rapid will still match S.D. of newest guns using nearly 40yr old mechanical technology--art. Well all that being said I do love gadgets and would love to play with the Delta Wolf. I would still put it in my personal category "gadget playing" and not "shooting".

Your Airwolf really shouldn't do that. None of my Daystates have, mechanical or electronic. Sounds like there is something wrong with yours, and it's probably not the electronic parts...

As for the rest I can appreciate both the art and the science. Nothing wrong with a rapid whatever the age!

Isn’t this post about the new Daystate Delta Wolf? ;)
