New deal on "black" filter

Fly.

They are all the same. If you look a bit harder, you will find them even cheaper. I bought the one from centercut's link, on fleabay, for $30.17 and that included the hose. I have seen ads on Smellyexpess for two or three bucks less. Check with the vendor if you want the hose. My hose was faulty but the refund is enough to cover a new one with the ends that I require.

I have to add, these are significantly smaller than the gold filter. If you have a two cylinder Tuxing or a Yong Heng, I’d stick with the gold filter arranged as I have described on a few occasions. For a Hatsan, AV, or AC, I think this smaller black one is sufficient due to the Hatsan/AV/AC already having a significant cotton tampon filter as part of the set up. For the Tuxing/YongHeng, they have none and need a two inch inlet and one inch outlet cotton on each end of the Zeolite 13X. Take it for what it’s worth...

I think this one is perfect for my little Yong Heng. I was using the big gold one and in my experience, was overkill. I like a lot of other users have found that the little OE filter is fine for gun fills and 95% of the residue coming from the pump. The black one is a lot smaller but it still takes over one hundred pumps with my hand pump to pressurise it with my Hatsan hand pump. When I checked the inside of my gold filter after 9 months of use, it was clean and dry inside. The orange indicator beads that I put in were still bright orange at both ends. The little filter on the hose did a fantastic job and only needed a quick dry to get multiple uses out of it. I am using an even smaller filter on my Altaros booster because I use drying on the low side and these days I only use it if I want to top my bottle the last couple of hundred PSI

I wish this information was out earlier. I also feel that the gold filter is an over kill for my application. I fill my rifles directly so the amount of water produced per fill is not that much. I have the feeling that the majority is already purged through the low-end bleed valve and absorbed by the little black filter that came with Yong Heng. Due to the size of the gold filter, pressurizing it from 0 to 4500 psi takes one and a half minute which is too long for me so I have added a 6000 psi rated needle valve at the outlet and a check valve at the inlet to keep it pressurzied between fills. With the black filter, these bells and whistles will be unnecessary.
