New EDgun Matador .22 short!

The matador was the very first bull pup that I really wanted and for some reason it has taken me quite a while to get one. I noticed that every so often, Ernest Rowe would sell tuned EDguns so I decided to shoot him an email and ask if he might have one kicking around. To my surprise I found out that he sells new EDguns now and had some in stock (at a very reasonable price). I decided it was time to buck up and get one and now it's here. A .22 R3M short.

First impressions are that it is well built gun and feels very solid which I like. It came shooting the 18.1's at 890fps and seems to get about 45 shots on a 200bar fill. I could fill it to a bit over 200bar to get 50 shots but I'll just stick to 40 for now since I use a hand pump. Accuracy seems good the few times I have tried it at 30 and 45 yards but for me it is very hard to shoot without a bipod. The fore arm slips around on my Allen front rest. I have a picatinny rail and some better scope mounts in the mail to fix that. The trigger was a little heavier than I like and I adjusted it some so it's okay now. Certainly not as good as the mutant though! Bolt action isn't super smooth but from what I've read it should get much better with use. I thought that the rear bolt might bother me but I got used to it quickly. I love the stock design and the matte finish on the metal parts. The hand grip is kind of an odd shape and felt a little weird at first but I'm use to that now.

To me it is backyard friendly but I think for some that require "mousefart" quite they may need to upgrade to EDguns offset moderator. I was surprised at how well the shroud actually works considering it's quite small.

It comes with a nice case (it could use some better quality zippers) and the best part is the pup fits in it WITH a scope!

Can't wait to get a bi-pod mounted and start shooting this thing! I'll have to take some better pictures later, it has been raining all weekend and my phone doesn't do well indoors.

After some fiddling (because I can't leave well enough alone) with my r3m it is now an absolute tack driver! I think most of this has to do with giving the gun time to break in but I figured out that I did have the rear eccentric stock screw adjusted too tight and I think it made the gun very hold sensitive. I had noticed if I didn't keep my grip consistent I would get fliers but now it just stacks pellets. No problem ringing a 1 inch spinner at 70 yards over and over again :)

Some more recent photos after adding a rail for my bi-pod. I also added Donny's 1/2-20 unf adapter (top quality!) but have yet to get and ldc for it. For me it is already backyard friendly so there is no hurry.
