New Euro 220V Shoebox Freedom 8 Compressor

Has anyone seen one of these or know about this new compressor from Shoebox. It simply states the output is double the output of the original Freedom 8 but does not give any volume or fill times. It's selling for just over $1300.00. I have sent an E-mail but no respnce yet.

I thought this is just a 220v version but uses the same compressor so it won't fill any faster than the 110v freedom 8? Could be wrong but that is the way I read the description. Let us know what they say when you get a return email response.

Why wouldn't you use a 220v shoebox? Would be a disaster on the 110volt models, but this new one has to have a 220v motor, so what is wrong with that??

50 hz motor which is supposed to be larger. If it doubles the capacity output, it might be more competitive with the other compressors. Once I hear from them I will post the information.

I still find it hard to consider it a true competitor to any of the stand alone compressors since it is really just a booster as it needs a first stage compressor to operate.

I live in the land of no basements, small backyards, and small garages. Space is a commodity and so being small amd compact is just as important as output (for my situation). I think this is why the Omega is apealing to some. The Bauer and Kid, although hands down are better, require a designated space. With very little storage area, the garage tends to fill up.I am envious of your shop! I already have the first stage compressor and it would be easy to stack on top. They look like they can easily be repaired and if I can fill in under 2 hours it might work for my situation. I almost got the Kidd but didn't know where I was going to put the dam thing! 
Now that the kids are in college, the wife is talking down-sizing. What the ………! Should have stayed in Indiana! LOL

The footprint of most of the others is very small when you see them first hand. When you combine a shoebox with first stage, it is rather bulky. Not downing the shoebox, just stating facts that when you put it all in to perspective, it's not compact and still the slowest on the market.

But it's also the least expensive by far! That's why I got one. I have the Max 4500. Had a small shop compressor already. Mine is running now filling my Tiger Shark tank in anticipation of my RAW arriving Monday. I'm very happy with mine so far.

30, I would own one if the Shelden wasn't an option as I will not buy Chinese unless I have to. But, it is very slow and after you add in the cost of all the needed add ons to even compare to the others, it really isn't that inexpensive. Again, I think the shoebox is awesome, but the slow speeds make it very hard to compare to even the chinese units. I really don't mean to be a dick about it, but I fill my tiger shark from 3000psi to 4700psi in under 7 minutes. I totally get your point, and if the Shelden didn't exist, I would own a shoebox. However, the compressors above the shoebox and chinese will spoil you very quickly so I am very biased!!

The 50 Hertz will run 1.2 x faster on 60 Hertz this is not huge but could be a factor for the pump & because it is turning the pump faster it will draw a little more current. I would consult the manufacturer they may not warranty it.

Shoebox website says 1.75 hours for a Tiger Shark sized tank from 3000-4500psi. Is that accurate linsfreak or do you get faster fill times??

aj, my shoebox charging setup charges up my Tiger Shark tank in 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Sometimes I have to give an additional 15 min charge after cool down to bring final pressure to 4500 psi.

I have sent two e-mails to Shoebox but no reply as of yet to the output of the 220v unit.

NM, yes that is the 110v unit. Also, I don't think that a units "capacity" is a function of its voltage. If the motor RPMs are the same and the pulley sizes are the same, then the pump output is the same.

I wondering if having a motor that requires more volts and amperage just means the motor will last longer. The higher 220 motor just doesn't have to work as hard as the 110 volt motor
