I finally got a responce from Shoebox. Bleudg, you are correct they have the same output. Not sure what the advantage would be, maybe just better wear and tear on the motor.

That model was made to sell to the euro market as there electricity differs from ours here in the US.

Yes, voltage doesn't dictate the compressor output, but a 220 motor draws less amps and is more efficient when compared to a 110 motor in the same application.
