I had been looking at getting Goldstar for quite some time now. @Franklink made quite an impression on me with the review he did several months ago and I have wanted one since. I really liked the stock and all the adjustments you could make to it and other parts of the rifle. By the time I was ready to order one, AOA had sold out of the Union Jack edition which of course was the one I wanted. They had the gray laminate but I already have 4 PCP’s with gray laminate and I just wanted something a little different. The last time I called AOA to check on the rifle, I was informed that the Union Jack was a special edition and they wouldn’t be getting any more of them. I figured I had missed my chance to get one and started looking at other rifles. Then a few days ago I was checking out AOA’s pre-owned inventory and was pleasantly surprised to find they had one listed in excellent condition. I ordered it on the spot and it just showed up today. My impression after that first shot was wow this thing is loud! I was surprised by the report and needless to say the muzzle brake came off and a Huggett went on. This helped quite a bit but it still makes some noise for a .177. I had cleaned the barrel before shooting and accuracy was just OK. Then the barrel started getting a little lead coating on it and the Goldstar turned into a laser. I’m extremely happy how it shoots considering I didn’t make any adjustments at all before shooting. I need to set the stock up to my liking and tweak the trigger. It arrived with a very long first stage that I will definitely shorten. The trigger pull measured 10.5 ounces and I want it around 6 ounces. I think it’s really going to be a shooter once I get everything set up. I also plan on ordering a Huma regulator for it and getting it to just under 20 FPE.
