New FX .25 SLUG liner now apparently 1:16 twist rate.

More like planned obsolesce. Get us to spend more $$.

Not at all, different twist rate is for different length slugs. The 1:16 would be too much for light to medium weight slugs so right barrel for the right projectile.

Have your looked at PB barrels? 6.5 or 7 or 7.5 or 8 or…….then don’t get started with left gain barrels! o_O

It's called humor, work with me here ok?

Has anyone tried the new FX .25 heavy or slug liner they seem to be 1:16 twist rate now.
There were problems with the 1:18 twist rate and now FX have come out with this new one.
Are we the consumer doing the R&D for FX??

Hey FX todays hint, when you change something on a product, CHANGE THE NUMBER, it's standard manufacturing convention. a dash, a period, ANYTHING in this case simply 20659-16 as compared to a 20659-18, see it's EASY.

That would mean they admit the previous versions were faulty. Keeping the numbers the same no one knows.

Below are my preliminary testing results using the new fx superior slug liner w/ 1:16TR (25 cal, 600mm barrel) in an fx dreamline tactical with the power plenum:

Using the fx superior 1:24 TR liner, the only slugs I could get to group well at 50yds were the NSA 29.5 gr .249 slugs. By grouping well, I mean nickel size 5 shot groups at 50yds. My avg. speed was 910 fps. Both the Javlin 32.5 and NSA 33.5 gr .250 slugs would not group well with this liner.
Changing the liner to the fx superior 1:16TR liner, the NSA 29.5s continued to group well at 910 fps. But now, the Javlin 32.5 gr slugs grouped equally well (dime size grps) at an avg speed of 887 fps. I have not tried the NSA 33.5 gr. slugs but believe they too will shoot well thru the 1:16 slug liner. Note: my fx dreamline is tuned to maximum power, for my gun that is: 150 bar on the regulator, TP=high, HS=maximum and PW=23. With my gun, I'm not able to generate additional power without changing out the hammer spring and hammer weight. Hope this info helps.

I notice that the PID number is different whatever the PID number is?
I'd guess it's an inventory number, IMHO and I'm seriously guessing here, if that PID doesn't show up when you order one, it's a crap shoot as to what you'll get unless otherwise specified. Oh I know...Part I. D. is a guess.

When I got my 1:16 700mm liner. I got it at
High Pressure Pneumatics. At that time he stated he had plenty of them in stock. Although I only had one outing with it, it shot great.

Tom will will tell you exactly what he has if you ask. When I asked he went, physically checked the item, and text me back the info I asked for! 😊👍

I'll join too, today I took out the barrel so I can clean it and check it.
I just took a photo of the barrel.

I just can't find her anywhere under even one number.
I also took measurements and I measured 6.29 mm from both sides, so it seems to me that the barrel is choked, which as far as I know, the manufacturer claims that the 700 mm barrel is made directly for shooting slugs. but if I want to shoot slugs, I can't have a choked barrel. Does anyone know where the truth is?

All the fx barrels are choked. The choke is required for the soda straw design. I basically use only slugs in my soda straws so it's really not as detrimental as one would think. It has more to do with the overall design.

thank you for answer. I just don't understand why they make a barrel with a double-sided choke, it's total nonsense to me. it is better to make a one-sided chock. sometimes the maker might use brains too.

It actually worked quite well today. I just needed to slow down and actually see where the everything was hitting. I have gone my farthest today. 540 yards! My own personal record. Which is pretty good for this 1:16 soda straw design. I'm trying to edit and upload the video in a nother post now.
