FX New FX DRS Pro, Classic and Sub 12

The DRS would have my full attention, if it was offered in a 30-40 fpe version.. or more.. nothing wrong with more either lol

I love the concept, just the sub-12 part that kills it for me.

Looks like there will be a higher powered version.
(Or FX hints at the other teased rifle)

I have shot many spring rifles in the 10-17 ft. Lb range. I vastly prefer guns with at least double that much power and have zero desire to go backwards. In .22 caliber, 800 fps with the 16 grain JSB would be what I would call minimum acceptable. That is 22 ft lbs. 800 fps gives a flat enough trajectory with a heavy enough pellet for serious hunting usage. Just my opinion, everyone has a different experience and a different usage in mind for their guns. I understand that for many people 12 ft lbs would be okay. I do hope that they make these rifles in several versions. They look very good. Lack of bulk and weight are good for a hunting gun. The next question is how much $.

I'm curious how many of the sub-12 naysayers have owned one. Since I tuned my HW100 down to that level, I shoot it more than any other rifle. It's perfect in the backyard, virtually silent, great shot count, and still kills squirrels cleanly.
That's what I did to all my PCPs. Many years ago I desired to own only magnum-power PCPs, but once I got into shooting them at 8 - 11 FPE, I discovered it was way more fun to shoot airguns at those power levels. The advantages are many when shooting in the backyard and urban neighborhoods, which I'm not going to mention because many have already done so. What I will say is that I like the challenge of hitting the very tips of palm leaves at 43 yards and the thin sides of business cards (which people put on a weekly basis on my front door) at 27 yards because they put my shooting skills to the test. In terms of having sufficient power to dispatch pests, even 8 FPE is enough to effectively put down pigeons at 35 yards.

Magnum power or +12 FPE airguns have their uses, but for me, there haven't been any opportunities to even use at least 15 FPE for pest elimination nor reasons for it for the kind of shooting I do these days, which I'm totally fine with because I'm truly enjoying the "tink," "cluck," and "thwiip" muzzle reports of my Cricket, Ghost, and S410, respectively, when shooting them in my backyard and watching the targets fall or shatter … and while my neighbors carry on with their backyard shenanigans.😬😬😬

It will be interesting to see the eventual FAC version.
If it's like most others, the FAC version will be compromised in being forced to make more power. IMO, if FX is smart, they will develop this as a 12 fpe rifle. They have a catalog of rifles offering the power and bling to satisfy even the most ardent followers of power and "features". Why not (finally) offer a solid, simpler rifle that competes with the traditional world market? The US market will always want bigger, faster, more powerful, often without even knowing what it means. FX has a chance here to show the desirability of a quality rifle of traditional power. I hope that they take advantage of it.

Why not do both.
