New FX Impact MK2

I just got my new gun. .25 Fx Impact MK2 600mm barrel. The gun came with the plenum set around 92 bar. I chronied JSB 25.39 pellets at 925fps. 

I've havld a Marauder field and target and a Marauder pistol for 2 years and I fill them with a Air Venturi 74 cf tank so I'm not exactly new but certainly not a veteran PCP guy.

I have a few questions about my new gun and thought I would join this forum. Noone in my area around here that I know shoots PCP guns.

I have questions with filling, air usage and scope setup.

When I fill the gun, I fill to 250 bar, close valve, bleed line and gun dial drops to 235 or 240 bar. Is that normal? Can I fill to 260 so it settles around 250?

Next. I have been topping the gun off so I have not shot a long enough string to get down to reg pressure, but it seems to be using a lot of air. One 28 round magazine dropped bottle pressure from 240 to 170 bar. Seems a lot for a 92 bar reg?

Lastly for now. I mounted an Element Helix FFP MilRad reticle scope on the pic rail. I did not use elevation adjustable mounts. The scope is 7 clicks from bottomed out and is printing 3 inches high at 50 yards. I ordered a new set of adjustable rings. Just mentioning this. I believe this impact has a 20 moa rail which is pre tilting the scope.

Your tune seems off, when I first got my impact I had similar tunes and it just sips air. If I remember correctly I got 100 some shots per 480cc tank fill, I don't even remember because it has so many shots I lost count. Where did you get it and who tuned it? I suggest watch the master class on how to tune the impact on youtube by ernest rowe/FX USA, my guess is your valve is left wide open or pass 4 lines.

Unfortunately airgun shooting at low speed has a lot of drop so a 20MOA or adjustable mount is necessary depending how far you want to shoot at what speed.

Try turning the power dial down and test each setting to see how much the speed decreases at each setting. If you turn it down and the speed is the same, too much hammer spring, Find the setting where the speed starts to drop, and see if that doesn't give you better air efficiency. You can back off the hammer spring so when it's on Max, the next setting down is the sweet spot. Lots and lots of videos on the subject. Take some time, and you'll enjoy the gun a lot more.
