New FX superior liner .177

afters seeing our own Danish Viking shooting 16 gr. H&N slugs at 870 fps. I never had any good results with them before
Same. I have shot several 1000 of the 13 and 16 grain H&N slugs, and they are not at all as good as the Zan or even KO in the form of the 13 grainers

I got a new STX barrel for my maverick coming, taking it back to the original 600 mm for a pesting rifle, will feed it 10 grain KO MK3 slugs if it will take it.

Knockouts 10.03 Gen. 1 - 2 and 3......
The new Superior Heavy liner shoots all the three generations, Knockout 10.03 very good.
I shot nice groups at up to 75 m with even the first gen. of Knockout 10.03
In the superior Standard liner they were useless - all over the place I tried all speeds and never achieved any acceptable results.

So you will see a major improvement with the superior Heavy liner.

And it is nice they finally shoot well - I think i got 20 tins of the first generation Knockout 10.03 slugs in my shelf.

HN 16 gr. Slugs testing......
With the 860 - 870 fps I can confirm Peters experience, the H&N 16 gr. slugs shoots fine out to the 105 meters when i tested on saturday....
I did not have longer distance to test.

could never get the 10 grain knockouts or Zan to shoot in impacts under an inch at 50. 13’s are awesome.
Same and in both Maverick and Two
BUT the 10 gr Zans appear to fly stellar out of my friends Artemis M30

In the superior Standard liner they were useless
I hope that is just a fluke CUZ i just got a regular 600 mm liner as i could not find a heavy anywhere.
But if the 10gr JSB slugs do not work, i will just smack pests with pellets

My first 600 mm barrel the Maverick came with, would not shoot any pellet well at speed ( over 800 fps ) aside for the beasts, so that was a poor barrel i wouldn't even give to my worst enemy.

Are you shooting the 16gr H&N with the FX heavy liner or with your Daystate?

I did not try them yet in my Daystates, I tested the H&N 16 grain slugs in my FX Crown with 700mm Superior Heavy liner. I found them to be very accurate on the 104 meters at speeds 850 -870 fps. When i increased the speed on the power wheel, then they again was shooting like a shotgun on the 104m - just like i always remembered. But at speeds between 850 and 870 they was just as accurate, as when I shoot the 16 grain Zan slugs at 970 fps.
So Thumbs up to our Danish Viking Peter - for discovering the unseen performance potential in the .177 H&N slugs....

Daaammm sorry - I thought you ordered a Superior Heavy liner.
I learned yesterday from Soren that you were living close to Randers - I always thought you were the Dane living in USA.
Are you taking on all the Rats - that we hear so much about in the TV?

The Superior Heavy liner is also shooting pellets great so more flexible than the Superior Standard liner

From my point of view, The .177 FX "Superior Heavy liner" should have been named "Superior Standard" liner, and the liner that FX calls "Superior Standard" liner should have been named "Superior Pellet" liner. My Heavy liners also shoots Pellets like H&N Baracuda FT, JSB Heavy in the garden at very slow speeds - like a laser.....

Thanks for the reply. 870fps should be easy to achieve if I buy the 500mm barrel.

In 700 mm where i had both liners there was no difference shooting 13 grain Zan, so i was hoping shooting 10 grain would also be possible
I have same experience with heavy and pellets, they fly just fine out of it

I actually got the Heavy liner in the hope i could then shoot heavy slugs, boy was i wrong i cant even shoot 16 grain like Peter / Viking airgunner do ( we both live in Randers )
But my Two will handle 16 grain just fine, also 20 - 22 and 24 though here i must stay within 55 M, they do absolutely not work at 120 M

I would like to take on the rats, not least as i have a sleep disorder so dont sleep much and for sure not at night, but as you maybe know, this simple task is not simple in Denmark, so i would at least have to get a 4 day pesting course that revolve around the use of poison as far as i know.
But other than that i am fully equipped to shoot rats, and also do so under private circumstances at my friends place out near to Ans.

870fps should be easy to achieve
I would think so, i have no problem getting to 100 fps higher speeds with a 600 mm barrel and just 70 BAR on the regulator in the Maverick

I think i have tried to shoot H&N slugs ( 13 & 16 gr ) in my .177, also at the slower 8XX fps speeds, but i never gotten them to fly right in any rifle.
Zan and JSB is what do it for me when it come to slugs. NSA too but they carry a hefty extra price over here in old countries, at least 12.5 & 15 grain flew well.
