Do you clean your barrel on a new wildcat or any FX gun first before shooting. How do your clean your barrel and with what cleaner and tools?
thanks
thanks
do you have the link to Ted's video?"Jasonintn"Clean my wildcat with a 100 mono and patch like Ted showers in his video. Only cleaned once when new. Was told not to clean it u less point of impact starts changing.
Never heard that don't see how mono that is plastic could hurt a steel barrel. Does not make sense to me. If you were to get grit or something the mono maybe a problem. Would only clean when needed accuracy starts to go down."nvelkhunter"Read some where not to use mono filiment, can damage barrel if line rubs against barrel.
I think Tim Mcmurary ( spelling ? ) at mac1 air guns say don't use monofilament fishing line or weed eater line because it can damage the crown"nvelkhunter"Read some where not to use mono filiment, can damage barrel if line rubs against barrel.
I feel like plastic is one of the gentlest things you can do in turns of rubbing against the crown. Most people use metal cleaning rods which can make accuracy go down faster than a pigeon with a neck shot."Muskrat."

I would agree there are not many better options. I use the mono and patches best way I know of. Just be carful when doing any cleaning. If there is a better way let us know about it."Mark_Walt"

Have a link to the video I would like to check it out. What kind of yarn are you using."FastEddie"Michael posted a video on this. He ties some patches to a long piece of yarn and sucks it through the breech and pulls the patches through. Some wet patches followed by dry patches. I use this method also and it works great. Just pulling 1 or 2 dry patches through hardly removes any lead.I tie 4 patches on and lightly spray wd40. Then 4 dry patches. Shooting the jsb heavy mk1's leaves more lead than usual. Once the accuracy starts to fall off I clean the barrel and as good as new.
