Hello,

I have just bought a new FX Wildcat MK3 .22 and it arrived completely empty of air.
The dealer said that he did not empty the air.

Does anybody know if they come empty from the factory?

In the manual it mentions that it is best to store them with the minimum regulator pressure.
(by the way, the manual in the case was from the MK2 and not from the MK3?!)

If they come pre-charged from the factory then it obviously has some kind of leak and
I don't want to deal with such repairs on a brand new airgun and at this price range.

Thanks!

Because I would like to return it back as I received it in case the dealer tries to blame it on me.
It might be a simple thing like an o-ring but it might be worse like a faulty regulator and who knows what.
That is why I want to know if they are shipped pre-charged.

I cannot find any official email contact from Sweden. Don't they have their headquarters there?

Many of the members on this site are in the U.S.A., and what we may experience may be different.

I know that the Daystate rifles I have purchased have all had stickers on their boxes specifying that they had been drained of air for international shipment. But the U.S. dealers typically do some basic testing on the guns before shipping them directly to their customers, so I have always received guns with some pressure in their tanks, many times around 200 bar.

Perhaps a shipping regulation to Greece required draining of the air?

Did you get a gun from a dealer, or direct from the FX 'factory'? If the latter, I assume it may have been shipped empty to comply with some international shipping regulation. If purchased from a dealer, call them up and see if they filled and tested the gun before shipping it to you.

But all of this is just a guess on my part.

No one is going to blame you for putting air in an air rifle. There is a warranty on the air rifle. And fx has one of the best. You notified the dealer of no air. You are freaking out over nothing. Take a deep breath and air your new baby up. If it pisses its diapers, send it back.

I am Greek as well and I bought my impact x from the official dealer of fx 2 years before.

Actually I pre-order the gun and I was waiting almost 9 months to receive it ( in usa they where delivering already a second improved version of mkii !!!) The gun came completely dry without air. I didnt like this at all but I was hundrent percent sure that the dealer just receive it from Sweden because I was every week in contact with him because of the delay.

So I assume that are coming dry in Greece from Sweden because of international regulations. Any way I want to tell you that I fill the gun without detect any problem or leak .

As Rj mentioned above nobody is going to blame you if you fill the gun air. . Personally I would not like to send it back to the dealer and the dealer to call his gunsmith and start messing with the new gun to figure out what the problem is . Try to fill it air and leave it overnight and check the pressure next morning. Hopefully everything will be fine.

By the way like a new impact owner you would like to know that if you need any spare part and is not exist in the website of the local dealer you need to wait many many months to receive it and that is clearly because of fx policy to European dealers and is not fault of your local dealer.

I really hope everything is fine with your new impact .If you need any help in the future you can pm me any time.

I live in the USA. Some guns I bought came with air. Some came 0 psi. Air it up does not void warranty. The only way to find out if its leaking is air it up and let it sit overnight. If you hear a hiss, check where its coming from and replace to o ring. These guns are simple to work with it you give it time getting to know your airgun instead of freaking out over a simple issue. These are airgun, they will leak sooner or later. Learn how your gun works and how to repair them when the time comes. I wouldn't waste time sending it back over a small leak. Shipping these guns ain't cheap.
