FX New gun discharges air in my face on 7th shot

Received FX DRS .25 cal 700 mm barrel yesterday. The store completely prepped the gun
after seven shots today (first shooting) something blew out … air hit me in the face …. Gun was not highly pressured…. Presently will not hold air
will return to dealer Monday for replacement
how often does this occur ? I am quite. Ew to sir guns

It's not supposed to happen at all. What was the air pressure at when shooting? What is or was the regulator set to?

The pressure was 100
everything else was set by the company for the slugs I’m shooting and they zeroed it etc
i only know how to shoot …. No tinkering for me. I’m in western Montana, 77 y.o. And am going to air as my rifles are too much for me at my ago

Thanks for sharing some additional information. What projectile and weight were you shooting?

It’s entirely possible that a heavy projectile could actually get stuck in the barrel if the air pressure was too low. This would cause a burst of air to exit the breech.

Could be this. Also being that low shooting higher power could have over drove the valve stem and broke it

I was doing a barrel change on my panthera last week. Nicked an oring with the liner nut. On the tenth shot 1000psi blew in my face and broke the trigger shear. Just yesterday I recieved a new trigger shear and replaced the oring. Shot over a thousand rounds this morning with the gun. Orings fail. The ends of barrels and liner nut threads are sharp,so it's very easy for it to happen and not know it till it fails. The drs barrel system is similar, orings holding pressure around barrel. The panthera plenum is same design. They'll fix it,and it's not likely that it'll happen again. I've put over 20 thousand rounds thru my panthera. Great gun. Still cuts a hole at 100 yards. Just recieved 20 pounds of ammo to shoot. Here's pict to show you I'm for real.

With the gun no longer airing up…this is highly probable to be valve issue

I feel like this really applies to any high end pcp to be honest. when I still had my leshiy 2 the thing was constantly breaking and would have been financially impossible to send in for repairs every time it broke. same for both the wildcats I've owned.
