FX New gun or modify existing?

Hey was looking for some opinions. Have an FX Impact M3 in the compact version. In 30/22. Wanted to get more into slugs so would you guys modify the compact for $700 ish or buy a dedicated slugger? Also own a huben in .25 and a prophet 1 in .22/.25. Plus some others in the mid range. Adding more guns seems like a waste of money ant this point. Also are the prophet RPB barrels competitive with FX barrels for slugs?

whats to modify?
your m3 in .22 would be a great candidate for slugs.

i shoot the h&n 28gn slugs out of my .25 m3 compact with the stock liner,
the valve adjuster can make a huge difference in slug accuracy,
I have experimented with slugs in the .22 compact but it’s my understanding I’m basically stuck to a 23 grain or lighter because of the shorter barrel.

the shorter 500mm barrel on the compact just means youll have to run a higher reg pressure to get similar speeds compared to someone with a 600mm,
and someone with a 600mm will need a higher reg than someone with a 700mm,etc....

to push the 28gn h&n slugs to 950fps out of my .25 compact,
i am at about 118-120bar on the second reg.

I would stick with the 500mm 22cal standard Superior liner and shoot pellets and light slugs. Nielsen 17.5/20.2 grain slugs are still really great even if you cant get them going super fast. 900fps with a slug will shock you how much better they fly when compared to any pellet.
Yeah I just thought a bit heavier and faster would help with ballistics a bit. I’ve never tried those grains I will check them out around 900 thanks

Heavier and faster will be better, I was just pointing out that even on the low end slugs are great. If you can get them going faster and maintain accuracy that would be good. The short barrels are less air efficient though so sometimes chasing another 10fps isnt worth the loss of shot count.
