New Guy here trying to get my posts up so I can send someone a message and buy some goodies so let’s hear about the AEA HP SS Max 30. I started diving into the airgun hole and my wallet can’t afford the FX life yet but I’m looking for a little back pack gun I could use for squirrels, rats, fur bearers. And this looks like a perfect fit has anyone put the external regulator on theirs? I’m still learning here so try not to kick me too bad. If I end up liking it and sticking with it I plan on upgrading but for now I’m interested in this one. Currently running a Umarex origin and it gets the job done but looking for something more compact.

I have an AEA max 30 and am loving it. Has a edgun behemoth up front which quietens it a lot.
This was zeroing the scope yesterday.
It's not far off a 22lr but no powder which is what I wanted.

I'm currently recording shot strings which I will share. When the velocity settles it seems to sit in the 940-950fps range with minimal deviation till it drops off. This is using 44.75 diablo.

I have one and once you understand PCP’s, you’ll know why the gun is not regulated. It keeps the gun simple and capable of making big power out of a short barrel. It’s a fairly compact gun until you see what it takes to make it more quiet. Then the gun is full size. I would say most of us that have them already have really good guns. These aren’t horrible guns but more of a novelty item. I definitely don’t volume fun shoot mine. Basically I don’t trust it. But it shoots well when you figure out your max fill and refill numbers.

I've got the AEA HP SS .30 and it's a fun little gun. I take it with me in my truck all the time. It's accurate and pretty reliable once you figure out your fill pressure and stuff. Not as powerful as the Max but the SS is semi-auto. All depends on what you want in a gun.

Had the hp max 30 when I was pretty green to airgunning, mine was a piece of garbage, magazines were junk, leaks, and piss poor accuracy.. I personally would stay away and just save a little bit more cash and get something better, but there are people on here that will swear by aea that they are the best.
