New guy here

Just joined up. Recently purchased an Air Venturi Avenger .25 cal and getting used to it. Seems to be a nice gun. Already ordered a plenum extension and going to convert it to a 700cc bottle. Just got an FX pocket chronograph as well to track my shots. May also enlarge the 2 transfer ports as I want to turn the gun into a hard hitter.

@revenger Welcome to AGN. Great platform with forums chocked fill of useful information. The search feature is a very helpful tool to look into a wide variety of topics. There are also some good people here who are helpful and willing to assist you if you get stuck or don’t understand something.

Do you hunt? Do you like to shoot targets and objects in your backyard? Are you interested in competitive shooting? Reading your intial post in this thread, you don’t come across as completely green to airguns. Tell us a little about your interests in airgunning.

what are you going to do with this gun ? ,maybe coyotes ? something similar?
Well I'm gonna smoke some racoons first off lol. But I do like to target shoot as well. It may be frowned upon but I may at some point consider the gun to take a deer with. On private land there is no minimum caliber requirements in my state and at a yardage of 25 yards I already feel like a head shot would work as is. Though I do want to bump up the fpe. I am kind of in town but own a couple acres.. part of it attaches to about 40 acres of woods that I crossbow hunt. The pcp rifle wasnt intended for deer but after shooting it in stock form I know for a fact it would take a deer easily. But may stick to my crossbow for them. I will take racoons and squirrels often.

Yes I love to hunt all types of game from squirrels to deer to alligator if I draw a permit. I like shooting targets as well and have been testing the power of my avenger recently. Not too interested in competitive shooting yet as I feel like that could be a $10k rabbit hole lol. No I'm not green to air guns as I have an old Gamo springer that I did a couple small mods on it. Was a fun fun and still shoots good but pcp is way better so far. My interest in air gunning appeals to my interest as a tinkerer. When I get a new "toy" so to speak I like to learn all about it an modify it to my liking. My plan is to extract all the power I can out of this gun and then decide what the gun likes best. Currently looks like the jsb 33.95 both Mk I and Mk II shoot very well at around 850 fps. Got some NSA slugs in 33.5 and 34.9 grain to play with as well, though I suspect they will need much more power to perform and the gun or should I say the barrel may not perform. But we will see.

I’m trying to bring the power up on my .25 Avenger. I have opened up the barrel port some but that’s it so far. Why am I trying to get more power lol, because I love to tinker. I was wondering if you were going to see any gains with the plenum, that is the next thing I am looking to get I have already priced a 16.5 cc plenum. I was thinking about opening the transfer port next. If anyone has any information Or can point us new to moding guys in the right direction I would much appreciate it. I’m doing this for fun I love to target shoot plink and hunt.
