NEW GX CS-3 Noisy: listen please

Hello members

I just tested my new CS-3 today
Everything works as it should, but the fan noise is very loud.
2 Videos linked
- Sound internal faN ONLY
- Sound fan & pump together

I am not concerened about the pumping noise.
It is the loud, relatively high pitch of the fan that I think is the issue
Please listen and let me know if what you think
I'm. of course, ready to contact GX

Thanks
Edward

Keep in mind noise through a video can sound very different than in person. But yours sounds pretty similar to mine. Can you determine if the high pitched whine is coming from the compressor or the power supply?
It definitely the compressor, @MongooseV8
The power supply is the full length of the cable away, and behind a closed door

Also, you are correct about things sounding different on a video
This recording did not quite capture the highs.
They are somewhat softened from real life
Edward

So I cant tell you the sound is normal simply because my sample size is...2. lol

But I just fired mine up and it sounds exactly the same.
It may then be normal.
But it is surprisingly loud, and annoying
FWIW It hit 90dB
But that's on an uncalibrated app in my phone

I'm going to pull the cover and take a look

Sounds like mine did, nothing like how loud the little orange chinese ones are. Look for things close to the fan blade making noise louder

UPDATE
I pulled the cover yesterday.
There was nothing unusual found, and nothing making noise in the fans
BUT
With the cover off the CS-3 was actually less loud than with the cover on.
I thought it was an illusion, so I covered and uncovered a few times with the machine running
Definitely less fan noise, and lower pitch with the cover off
It seems to me that the 2 pretty powerful fans at the back side of the machine are too close to their exit vents and the air is resonating/whistling as it hits the restrictive vents.
And yes, the cover screws are tight.

Will see what GX says

Edward

I have experienced the same thing. I took my cs2 apart and lubed it. When I put it back together a rubber strip that runs along the bottom of the cover became dislodged and made it louder with the cover on. Yours does sound perfectly healthy to me. Maybe that happened to you or the cover is just a little loose or something.

Don't know GX-CS3 but could fans have less restrictive access to air with cover off, thus quieter, strain-free operation? WM

Good thinking @WorriedMan
That appears to be it, but the other way around
The exit air from the 2 fans on the back side is whistling as it passes thru their vent holes.
Take cover off and the whistling stops.

Interesting find. I wonder though will mine last long enough to burn out the fans? Probably not haha. I do like it especially for the price.
