New handheld thermal imaging device

So this is a new Thermal imaging device that was given to me to try. It uses your phone as the device with a handheld unit you put your phone in that contains the thermal imaging sensor.

First shot is obviously peri up close and personal
Second shot is roughly 18 yards away
Third and fourth shot is 50 yards
Fifth shot is about 20 yards.

Very cool stuff. Definitely a lot of unit for the $$$ here. I am thoroughly impressed.

I am going to compare this to my AGM ASP 160 but I think this sensor is better lol

Either the scope is out of focus or it is an entry level device.

The images should be much sharper and crisp.

Thermal scopes have truly changed the tide in ridding my property of feral hogs and armadillos.

As it is quite thick and the shots are mostly less than 25 yards, I purchased a Thermal Scope with a wide lens for a wider angle of view.

It is a AGM TS25-384 https://www.opticsplanet.com/agm-gl...ct-short-medium-range-thermal-imaging-ri.html

Consider the ts-384 is 5 times the price of this.

This also isn't a scope either, like I said in the original post, in the first line "It uses your phone as the device with a handheld unit you put your phone in that contains the thermal imaging sensor."

Without listing what device you were testing, it was difficult to decipher what you were actually writing about.

As previously asked by @SenseiSmash, what device is it?

Hmm, I thought I had explained it pretty clear that its a sensor that attaches to your phone and your phone is the viewer, maybe not. I also did compare it to my AGM ASP 160 which is as entry level as it gets.

Its the Xinfrared hand held unit, they are new to the market and certainly entry level but quite good for the cost.

Comparing apples to oranges here. I also have this Xinfrared unit, and for the price, the quality is stellar. I still wouldn’t be comparing it to an almost $2k scope though.
