HW/Weihrauch New HW30 Jr.

Never noticed or thought about this until reading about it here. I have no reach problems with any of my HW’s. And neither did my kids when they would shoot them. Must have some very short fingered folks on here.

Most casual shooters don't know what ideal fit is about. They use them as is not knowing any better. Most people and myself don't have a problem with Weihrauch trigger reach but there's a fair amount of avid shooters that do. There's aftermarket set back triggers available for a reason. Many high end rifles come with adjustable reach triggers to facilitate better ergonomics.

It's not that Weihrauch longer trigger reach makes them unusable. It's that it just makes them less than ideal for shooters with small hands and or short fingers. If you want the most accuracy and fun from a rifle, a good fit goes a long way. You can shoot any rifle but you always want that indescribable feeling you get from your favorite good fitting rifle. That feeling comes from a number of different form factors. For some people that includes an ideal trigger reach.

Yep, exactly why I put set back triggers on my rifles.

I’m just glad I don’t have that “problem” with the length of my…fingers. .

I have other guns with shorter trigger reaches. I’ll keep my HW’s were there at.

I am one of those short statured people that reach to trigger can be a little bit of a problem. I have a Beeman R9 (HW95), Beeman R7 (HW30), and an HW50S Hunter. I bought the Beeman's new, but the gentle used HW50S Hunter (with moderator) was just too good a deal to pass up. It came with a Tinbaum spring and guides, as well as the Rowan Extra Setback trigger. I liked the setback trigger so much I bought another one for the R7. I ought to get another one before Trump puts a 25% tariff on them from England Got to wonder if it is the same compression tube and piston as the HW30S. If so, it could be juiced up a bit as the kid gets older. It will be interesting to see how they price it.

I don’t think there’s any juicing up an R7 that can be done. I have a set back somewhere. I should try and find it.

Maybe he means juicing up the "Junior"? He already knows the R7 and 30 are the same. If the "Junior" is the same comp tube and piston there should be no reason you can't bump it up to 8 fpe.

I like traditional stocks too, but I can imagine they made the stock that way to cut as much weight as possible for Junior.

Any new offering from Weihrauch is a good thing. If I were asked which two airgun companies I would like to see survive at least as long as I do, I would have to say Weihrauch and Feinwerkbau in no particular order. Now stop being such a crotchety bunch! You will give our ages away with all that complaining.

I have an RWS kids' rifle. A Giss system, it has a pistol barrel with a rifle looking sleeve which mounts the front sight. It wears a peep sight at the rear of the action and an adjustable LOP stock. It basically is a Model 6M set up as a kids' rifle. Now I will have to get it out. I have a Daisy Avanti 753. So there are two kids rifles in house for the kids to learn on. I have six greats from 6 months to almost eight years old. I hope the Lord gives me enough years to guide them and teach the spring piston technique. If they learn that there will be lessons on lead, etc., for moving targets. Both aerial and ground. Rabbits and squirrels will not have as good of a chance of survival. My Dad was good, as a Bombardier/Navigator in a B24 he had gunner training as the gunner could be put out of action and the Bombardier could jump in to protect the ship. I think it was both shotgun and Ma Deuce he learned on. He was a more than passable shot. The squirrels have complained about me in the past but when they shake their tails they go home with me. I want the great grands to be able to do that. These kid's gund really help. I learned on guns which were ALL the wrong LOP. The shotguns all had to be pushed out then brought into the pocket. Kids buns are the best things. Please don't overlook them. Do you read these things manufacturers???? I WILL BE BUYING AT LEAST ONE OF THESE GUNS AND WILL SELL A FEW FOR YOU.
