Ya, I was thinking that was a poor picture or a stock beech gun picture used ... If it is the walnut picture that's some bland plain Jane looking walnut ..Look like beech to me..lol.

Lol! The average Joe doesn’t buy a Weihrauch.Yeah Nasty, that's why Weihrauch has never made them ... the average Joe doesn't want to spend more $$$.
There will likely be better looking (Walnut) stocks, but not AA quality ........ Weihrauch has never appreciated top notch stock designs/woods.I agree, if that's walnut I'm not impressed.
On the cheap they could of use hatsans Turkish walnut stock suppler. Then maybe that's there suppler anyway ?There will likely be better looking (Walnut) stocks, but not AA quality ........ Weihrauch has never appreciated top notch stock designs/woods.
Since Minelli can produce excellent stocks, it's up to Weihrauch to pay for more than "functional".
Weihrauch stands for excellent metal work/design, but only average or slightly above average stocks.
However, their Lexus stocks are nice, albeit a bit clunky ............
I guess they got to optimize the profit margin somehow..The 95 pictured is definitely Walnut. The thing is they simply used a cheap spray (muddy) stain and clear coat. Just like the Beechwood model. At $130 bump, then selling the Beechwood stock as a new takeoff $220, you have $350 towards a custom stock. Around $500 from CSStocks Ltd. Better way to go, IMHO.
I see a bad picture of a nice walnut stock with fiddleback on the butt end.Ya, I was thinking that was a poor picture or a stock beech gun picture used ... If it is the walnut picture that's some bland plain Jane looking walnut ..
As Lynyrd Skynyrd would say "You Got That Right"I see a bad picture of a nice walnut stock with fiddleback on the butt end.
I would strip it, reshape it, and remove the ambicrap side cheekpiece so no southpaws (Hee! Hee!) can use it. Then wet it and see how it looks. Might need some stain, might not. Then finish it. Walnut is very nice to finish. The checkering? Nice pattern. I'd chase that out with files and now it's hand cut.
Brag up Air Arms walnut but a lot is just straight grain English walnut. It's a lottery there too. We've seen a few pretty HW35's lately as well.
Hey Nasty,I kinda got to agree with just Zack above I ride mine hard and put up wet and the utility catagory sounds right..lol
- I buy to use however wherever not so much to admire on a pedestal.
Hit a nerve?..lolHey Nasty,
We already have a pretty good understanding of what you'd do ---> unnecessary information.
However, if you're gonna spend the $$$ - might as well take care of it. If it gets dinged badly, refinishing is "Easy" (unlike Beech).
Maybe HW will make you a cheaper all plastic 95. You can bang it around, put it up wet, and it will never rust.I kinda got to agree with just Zack above I ride mine hard and put up wet and the utility catagory sounds right..lol

Be nice cause they do rust easy vs others.Maybe HW will make you a cheaper all plastic 95. You can bang it around, put it up wet, and it will never rust.![]()
