New line of optics for airgunners- ATHLON HERAS DeadEye review

Need a red dot in the middle
the Athlon Heras SPR 6-24x56 SFP does have an illuminated dot... but... not the rest of the reticle. i have both the FFP and SFP.
My APRS9 reticle looks different as in a christmas tree

Adding some recent Athlon HERAS SPR 6-24x56 FFP and SF scope info and a comparison.

I have 3 Athlon Heras SPR 6-24x56, 1 SF the other 2 FFP.
Even with my 6" wheels, the 10 yard to 60 yard number spread on the wheel is about 100 degrees on said wheel... and it's pretty iffy from 40 out....
what am i missing here? all three behave basically the same.

@DeadEyeNC What are your experiencing?

I'm going to re-range and re-mark again this weekend to see.

Comparing this particular Athlon against a same price point Element:

I have two Element Titans 3-18x50 ffp. Of note, because with a 6" wheel the numbers from 10 yards to 55 yards cover 300 degrees of the wheel's rotation! But I really have to work to achieve a repeatable focal point.
Good info!

I'm using a 6 3/4" wheel, which gives me about 3/8" between 50 and 55 yd marks. Depending on lighting and fatigue I usually can range pretty well out to 50 yds. 50-55 can be a challenge with ANY scope at 16x.

300° of rotation from 10-55 with the Element is pretty impressive! I would think with that kind of rotation you should have a lot of space between 50 and 55 yds. If it's repeatable, that could work nicely!

I was setting up the yardage on my Heras 4-20 to 55 yards. It was very difficult to tell the difference in focus past 40 yards. It will make long shots kinda iffy in FT.
Depending on your eyes, it gets pretty difficult beyond 45 yds with ANY scope at 16x. It takes a lot of practice. Look for something small to focus on- a bolt, frayed string or knot, details on a clamp. I rarely range on the faceplate- it's usually something with texture on the hardware.

Yes, they have multiple reticle options available in the Heras.
And I didn't even mention the lifetime transferable warranty!
I went to their website, and even though I was on my phone, I couldn't figure out how to find the other reticles. Anyway I'm really radical picky, and love the BDC type reticles such as what's in some of the Sig Sauer scopes. If Sig Sauer scopes focused down to at least 20 yards I'd have a couple on my guns already. For hunting I like a slightly thicker reticle for faster acquisition so I don't have to worry about reading hash marks etc. Something like this;

I’m not done vetting this scope for focus repeatability and snap yet… taking my time
And I just put one on my primary HFT rig to test it out

Having picked up a HERAS 6-24x56 SPR in SSP last month, got to shoot my first FT match with it yesterday ( SVFTC Club Match )
It did GREAT !! Tho did find the retical a tad thin having to really concentrate on the small hash marks to get the correct hold applied, it did range very well from 10 to 55 yards !!! using at 16x.

So it gets an initial (y) (y) rating from this experienced FT shooter.

can you take a pic of your wheel marking from the 30 yard to 55 yard area... wondering how many degrees your spread is on the wheel. Good news on the success. I have to leave my illumination feature on and i have both the SFP and FFP models but currently finding the FFP better as the entire reticle lights up rather than just the dot... but i am still new to this game.

That's great!
You may find with some time you get used to- and maybe appreciate those small hash marks. I know I do.

Yea I agree on the FFP version- only because the entire reticle lights up. I have no idea why they do not offer the full illumination on the SFP version (I have made that suggestion to them).

Some don't use illumination, but in the dark wooded field target lanes here in North Carolina, it comes in handy- and helps me focus on my holdover.

Can you take a picture of your wheels spread 35-55? @DeadEyeNC
