New m4 mags vs older m3 mag

I have an M4 and have the M4 mag in .25 and the M3 mag in .30. Here's a few pictures of each so you can see the difference.

The M3 mag has more plastic than the new M4 mag. Here's a close-up of the M3 mag and clear cover.

When either is in the Impact, there is no discernible difference as to how they function! If you were blindfolded, you probably would not be able to tell one from the other when cycling the rifle. Having said that, Trendier Airguns has the M3 Mags on sale for $10 off, so they are $59.99 each instead of $69.99. I just ordered one from Trenier today, it should be here on Saturday!

Thanks man for close up pictures. Which one do you prefer or cycle better? Fx claimed the newer m4 will cycle smoother and no jams due the having bearings. If they have sale for the m4 mag I'll grab some.

I honestly can't tell the difference when cycling them in the Impact! The M4 (Gen 4) mag does feel a little smoother when loading, but not much. Trenier has the M3 (Gen 3) mags on sale, probably clearing out old inventory to make room for the Gen 4 mags. The Gen 3 mags work just fine for me, so saving $10 is saving $10 bucks! I doubt the Gen 4 mags will go on sale until they come out with an M5 and then only if they change the magazine significantly from what changed when it went from Gen 3 to Gen 4!
