Hey BobBitchin, here's a interactive map of public hunting areas in Tx and there are lots of shooting ranges near you in the Dallas Fort Worth area just google Shooting ranges near Dallas tx, I'm way over in the east part of Tx, still hard to find shooting areas, all private property, but you can always ask a land owner if they will grant you permission to shoot or hunt on their property.
you may be required to have a permit shoot /hunt on public lands and a hunting license.

Hey thanks Kevin, ya I understand there are a lot of firearm ranges in the area but you should see the looks and all the remarks you have to put up with from the moment you pull out your gun till your out in the parking lot just trying to get out of there. I know of just one with a dedicated air gun range and it's a gun club just on the east side of DFW airport, I can't think of the name to save my life right now. The only way that I know of to use that range is you have to have a membership to an Archery Club in Dallas, then it's free to use for their members. I am just hoping for some land owner who might want some pest removal via air gun for free on their land lol.

So as you might have gather I am pretty new to this so if do something that is not right please feel free to point it out to me. I am not sure what all can be done in these forums or even how to navigate around to check stuff out, so feel free to point me in the right direction there as well. First dumb question, is there a limit to how much you can type in these little boxes?

I have used the rifle range at Defender outdoors. The auto return out to 84 yards are useful for plotting the trajectory of a big bore. Once I got it zeroed there is no reason to take the Dragon Claw out except to hunt. There are field target matches in Mansfield and at AirnGasman's place. Those are .177 or .22 caliber 20 ft lb power limit for the normal field target matches and I think a .30 caliber limit for the Extreme Field target matches.

Thank you so much for sharing that information. Defender Outdoors sounds like a really nice place, I will look them up and see if I could fit in there.
