Getting back into air rifle shooting and hunting. Have a Cometa Fenix 400 USC in route from Jon @Keystone it's gonna be a gas ram. What pellet choices does yours like and what kind of accuracy can I expect.

Welcome aboard! Even identical airguns may shoot the same projectile differently. We've all, pretty much, had to go through the "trial & error" period to find the best combination. Would help if you mentioned caliber.

Welcome to the family. While I don't have that particular rifle I do find that most of my .22 rifles have done very well with either the JSB 15.89 or the JSB 18.13 pellets. Hope that helps to get you started in your pellet testing.

Yes, I have the Cometa gas ram in .22. I like it a lot!
Mine likes Crosman domes or hollow points. It isn't picky but the heavier pellets (16+) don't group as well as the ones about 14 grs.
It's accurate. I've been shooting it with open sights sitting in a lawn chair with elbows on my knees at 25 yards. It will put 5 under a dime every time.
I mounted a scope on it yesterday. Things will get even tighter when I shoot it off a rest.
The gun is powerful and it kicks. It could be difficult to shoot well. I recommend a limbsaver recoil pad. It really helps to keep it from jumping off your shoulder. That has been the only obstacle to good accuracy. Once you figure out the recoil it's a very accurate rifle.

It's not a one hole shooter although it's mighty close. Honest 1/2" ctc groups @25 are about what I'm expecting from it with a scope off a rest.
There are details about the rifle that might turn a guy off at first. I was skeptical when I got it. After shooting a few thousand shots that went away. Its a hard hitting accurate rifle thats easy to work on. The price is right. I'm going to buy another one just like it.

This one is primarily gonna be set up for small game and survival do you know what Bar. Pressure the ram came at ?

No I don't. It's not adjustable. At least I don't believe it is. I could be wrong on that.
With 14.66 gr. Crosmans @ 4000 fas it shoots a steady 745 fps.

That's pretty solid fps. I was curious cause I had access to a complete nitrogen rebuild and test center.

Then you may be able to tweak it a bit. Or find a similar ram that can be adjusted. It's pretty simple engineering.
It's smooth and quick lock time. The velocity is up there about as much as you could reasonably expect for a breakbarrel .22. Any more power and it would be tricky to shoot accurately. It will leap off your shoulder or off a rest easily. That will sure blow a pattern.
The butt pad is the secret. I use them on most of my springers and it really helps accuracy. This rifle especially. The difference in accuracy and shootability is like night and day. No wild ones at all.
Pull it into your shoulder with your offhand a little. Straight back. No torque or pressure with the trigger hand. It will drop them in the same spot every time. You will love it!
