FX New member- please help with my new fx dreamline lite 30 cal- i have ton of questions but no answers..

thank you 6gun!

i will not convert as i told you earlier because i listened to you and others and take advice gladly from you... I will keep the 30cal with the liner it has- it should have 1/23 liner which shines with pellets and with semi heavy slugs and can produce up to 95ftp- that's enough for me, i wont go near that and stay at max 80ftp..
but i need your help and support on how to rebuild my tank.. i have now this crappy aluminum cylinder which holds only 290cc.. i want to change to 700cc carbon tank it is 41cm long so i think it will fit without hitting the donnyfl sumo...

i know i need bottle adapter for 129euro and the 700cc carbon is 360euro- but after spending another 500euro i would have a weapon which shoots 44gr pellet/slug at 900-950ftp x 70 times before refill and that would be sweet.. and i don't want the 480cc carbon bottle because the barrel is to long and with the short and chubby 480cc bottle it sticks out and looks funny- i rather have the longest 700cc carbon bottle to fill in the empty gap left after removing the original, long 290cc aluminum cylinder..

that's why i need to know how long is the original 290cc cylinder- i just ordered my dreamline online yesterday and it will be at least 2 weeks till i have it and can measure anything on it..

can some of you guys who has the dreamline lite with aluminum cylinder tell me how long is the 290cc cylinder?
Sorry I missed the non conversion part with the holiday cooking yesterday.

Can you post a picture of where the air tube meets the action(does it look like mine) ? Some of the newer dreamline guns have the bottle adapter and regulator with plenum and a screw on air tube with identical fittings as the fx bottle adapter. This means you may be able to just purchase a bottle of the dimensions you prefer with the bottle valve installed. Or you can buy a bottle valve and find a Chinese carbon bottle in lots of neat sizes and pick what best fits you. So long as the bottle is m18x1. 5 threads it will be a matter of screwing together parts.

The attached pic covers a few examples.
Top gun has a 360cc ali express cylinder that I converted the aea with. It was a tube gun.
Middle gun is dreamtact compact with (obscured) 300cc bottle.
Bottom gun is my money pit, semi useless slug shooting impact with a 580cc bottle for scale.

The 580 won't fit on my dreamline with the moderator.... Short barrel.

One of the more freeing things I ever did was have lots of large fill bottles and a compressor. I don't really worry about shot count per fill anymore if the gun can shoot at least a full magazine at high power. All 3 can shoot about 30 rounds per fill.

these are lovely guns!!!

beautiful.. i can not send you any pictures because i just bought mine online yesterday and read that it ships in 9-12 working days.. so including the holidays i might get it in 2-3 weeks..

but i bought today .30cal pellets from jsb 44gr and h&n slugs 50gr... now i am looking for a cheap compressor-you know, the yang hong or whatever they are called, 300bar for 211euro...

so when i get the gun and have the compressor- then i should be ready to go right? just fill the comp with oil )hydraulic 46 grade) and run it... connect the fill hose from that comp to the fill probe, stick it in the cylinder and go for it- i hope that's all i will need to get started..

how old is your dreamline?

i read that the newer ones already have extra plenum build in- so should i get an extra plenum on top of that?

and what would i gain by having extra plenum, do i need one or should i not complicate things and forget about it..

When you recieve it the questions will be pertinent. If you can just unscrew the air tube and put a bottle on it, you can now carry the air tube filled for extra air. 😁 looking at stock photos of the dreamline lite I think that will be the case.
and when the life gets a little too rough and you need some relaxing asmr then go ahead and watch my show- it helps me and others and maybe of use to you too :)

Please don't buy a Yong heng. Theyre pretty awful and you can get 2 of the 12v chinese shoe boxes for close to that price. The little orange cubes off Amazon have been the best use of the monet imo. I've been thru 3 yong hengs and 1 cs3. I have a big tuxing compressor and an orange cube now which can be run plugged into the wall or off a car battery in the field.

My dreamline is about a month old and it was equipped with the regulator and plenum. It is un modified and about maxed out for power. If i can sell that aea for enough id like a dreamline light in 22 or maybe 177 when fx figures out their liner in that size too. I love the gun and you can even put the tactical parts on it if you were inclined.

ok, so your dreamline is brand new just like mine is...good.. so the extra power plenum i hear fx installed on the new dreamlines must be inside the tank (if you have the cylinder like i do) or it is in front of the bottle (inside the bottle adapter) like your has, right?

so if i get the carbon bottle and i know i need to get first the bottle adapter (its obvious) then i can expect that inside that new acquired adapter sits the power plenum, i guess..

does bringing on a second plenum and screwing it before that bottle adapter helps with things and how?

Insnane cooling fan flow, low speed, multi stage. I keep one of those and a full sized dive compressor now. I can send you pics of all the broken Yong heng parts if you need.

so we got that compressor purchase taken care of- thanks to you! now back to the plenum question, go back to my post please, read and answer my friend to best of your knowledge :D

Ive seen guys stack the plenums and it hasn't been to great effect. The plenum is essentially the spacer between the reg and the action. The dreamline has been really good out of the box and being the best it can be. I just turned up the reg to 150 bar and then did a little micro adjuster tuning to get my 26gr hades pellets to 860ish fps 43ft lbs. I was getting all the audible signs, accuracy signs and air use signs that I'm approaching the limit of what can be done at that pressure in 380mm in 25 cal. Red arrow on plenum.

The same small orange compressor is advertised with various brands printed on it and minor changes. The cool part is you can buy components for these on ali express pretty cheap and no water bucket or hoses. Here's some pics of each of the yong heng issues I had. Rod failure and piston failure. As it ends up this unit was shipped with an out of spec cylinder and the deck height was wrong. Thermal expansion combined with a short cylinder ended up making for contact even after I found the correct rod.

No that gun is 100% stock! I put vinyl camo on it and a bipod and screwed the original factory donny FL from my impact on it. Other than that is as-recieved and I told myself it's not getting touched. We learned from the impact. As for the compressor you can find them on ali express for much lower prices if you are willing to deal with that websites intricacies.

i am sure my new fx has the power plenum already installed from factory because this plenum allows the dreamline to reach 85ftp which was unheard of before the power plenum came.. i will order this bottle 700cc and the adapter, good choice?
