How much range are those Starlings at?
Do you plink or shoot paper, with that RAW?
The starlings are from 30yards to martin houses, but I get them on suet feeders from 40 to 60 yards. I usually don't plink or shoot paper. I guess I sighted it in and just use it. A lot of times, I sit on the patio and wear out the starlings while feeding wood to the smoker. Gives me something to do while minding the smoker.

I too raise chickens (crested polish) and one of the reasons I love air guns. My chickens aren't alarmed by the shooting unless I use those light pellets and go over 1100fps. Then they start yelling and throwing fits. Any way just wanted to say that there are others out here airgunning and chicken raising.

You know, during this last cold snap, I had hundreds of starlings mobbing my food in the rear of my barn where the chickens are. I have a 30x30 foot section of barn that I added on that I call our chicken family room. It faces east so that cold northwest winds dont reach them, but the morning sun does. I built doors that are pressure treated plywood up to 4', then I have welded wire up to the top at 8'. There is an opening from the top of the doors to the header, roughly 18". Don't you know that those flying rats found it to be a great place to stay out of the weather and fatten up on the chickens food and water. There is a hay loft above about 10 feet from the back wall. I climbed up there, set up a couple bails of hay and sat and waited on the starlings. They always land on top of the door before going in. I taught them that this is not a safe place for them to be. They pooped all over the place, including it the water. I am afraid the chickens may end up with bird flew. Since it got warmer, they have quit coming. I need to put chicken wire over the welded wire to assure they won't come back. But they will always find a way. They are filthy!

That is a very pretty boy and I would bet he likes to let the girls know all about it!

I have a bunch of them. My roos won't allow starlings to be in around the food. They get chased away. Sure they may get some bites of food but they don't have a buffet. I've found some that forgot their place and ended up dead with a hole in the head that I didn't put there. Stingy, aggressive chickens. 😁
