Hatsan New Mod 95 Vortex

Picked up my first wood stock Air rifle. 149.00 with scope. Brand new, not refurbished .I’m very pleased with the quality. Even a brass trigger. It’s also my first 22 pellet gun.

I think the stock is quite nice.

Lookin' good! A regular light oiling or yearly auto/floor wax will help keep that wood and metal looking nice.
I don't think that trigger is brass, or even "gold". Try lifting up a little when squeezing it, that seems to be the Quattro trigger trick.
I store mine horizontal or barrel down, barrel cracked but not cocked, to keep the Vortex seals lubricated and the breech seal plump.
Congrats again, and good photography to bring out that stock grain.

Still own the Model 95 .25 that was my first rifle getting back into shooting 9 years ago although now it's spring powered and yep, the Turkish Walnut stocks are very nice.
Couple things that might help:
- One of the best things I learned was from a very good friend on another forum. The Quattro has an odd up and back trigger pull. Easiest trick for a repeatable trigger pull is put your finger on the trigger, then slide it down so the edge of your finger is resting on the inside of the trigger guard. Keep the edge of your finger on the inside of the guard all the way through your trigger pull. Makes it easy to get the same pull every time.
- Never used the included Optima scopes on any of mine and didn't since most reviews said they have a bad habit of failing in the first tin or 2. Not betting things have gotten better, so you might also want to start saving for a bit better springer rated scope.
Enjoy the new rifle and keep us posted on how things go with it :)

Thanks for that valuable information. Is yours pellet picky?

Much appreciate the tips. This really is a great group of people here. Feels like home👊

Well, mine's a .25 and I shoot those lightweight unleaded pellets, of which there are only 2 decent ones: Baracuda Greens and GTOs. I also shoot home-cast tin pellets in a range of weights, and in general, lighter pellets shoot fine out to 25 yards (the extent of my range), _IF_ I do like Septicdeath said and shoot it regularly. I'd say not pellet picky but maybe a little hold sensitive? It takes me 10 practice shots to remember how to to float it in a proper hold.
But that's a .25, your .22 might like medium weight pellets and not be sensitive; only one way to find out!

I have 3 in .25 cal. But after seeing the amount of ammo choices for .22……
Well I needed to test those waters. If I like .22 enough. I’ll get a higher end version. I seen the sale on this one and decided it was an inexpensive opportunity 🤷🏻‍♂️
You are absolutely right. I need to shoot it.

And I want to. But all I have is .177, .25, .30 & .495
The .177 is an old Crosman pumper. Those tiny pellets to handle for me.

Clean the barrel first with a couple of patches. I would start with the Crosman .22 14.3's. Readily available from big box stores and inexpensive. Never know, might get lucky.

Another suggestion is to watch some reviews on youtube and see what they get the best results with. Why reinvent the wheel.

I have one in .22 I got from Midway USA as what they call a "Blemished" item. Turned out to be a return by another member of GTA after he shot it a whole 3 times and decided it was harder to cock than he thought it would be. It's the QE version but no complaints from me since it was only $118 plus shipping for what amounts to a new rifle :)
Shoots both H&N FTT's in the 5.53 head size and the heavier JSB 18.13gr well once I got a couple minor issues worked out. It came with a lousy crown which is fixed and the back stock screw liked working loose so maybe keep an eye on yours. Vibra Tite VC-3 fixed that. Also shot the RWS Superdomes pretty well.
Haven't tried any of the JTS offerings yet but they seem to be well spoken of and maybe one to consider??

I like my 95 Vortex .22 cal as well, hard to believe Hatsan can sell this for $149 w/scope. The stock on mine might even be a little nicer compared to yours, so no complaints there as well. Re the brass trigger, it might be brass plated pot metal at best, but it does work well after tweaking the trigger adjustments a tad. Unfortunately, the original Vortex ram in mine gave out fairly quickly, but Hatsan "eventually" took good care of me and sent me a new ram which I installed. I did have some "issues" with the install but she is shooting quite well now. Using the JSB 15.89's, she's spitting them out at about 745 fps/19.6 ft lbs. So decent power for backyard pesting, my main use of the rifle. The Quattro trigger has a very decent break now, and accuracy with the JSBs is pretty good as well. Very happy with it. The Optima 3x9 scope is still "alive" so far, but really not that many pellets fired as of yet. I did a little "backyard" parallax adjustment on the Optima, it's very clear now at airgun ranges. We will see how long the scope survives, will put a "better" scope on it when the inevitable happens with the Optima. For now, I'm just gonna keep using it as is.

I just ordered a new scope for mine.
