New Model AirMaks Katran

I recently had the opportunity to shoot a Prophet and a Katran, the Revere too and was really impressed with all of them. That makes 7+ incredible PCP’s that I’d like to buy but can’t afford! I have two sons that need air guns, optics, bipods, tripods and accessories all the time. They keep using up my air gun savings! I’ll try to blame it on them anyway! 😆 You often hear it’s an addiction and that this hobby can be a money pit...Believe it!!!

I have also been told there is a high powered version coming soon. What “soon” means, I don’t know. What “high powered” means, I don’t know either. I sent AirMaks a message on Thurs. or Fri. but have not heard back yet. I asked about the specifics, exactly what makes it high power...The valving, plenum, regulator, hammer spring, adjustability, etc. and when it will be available. If I hear back on Monday, I’ll let you know.

Have a great afternoon.

On the AirMaks website they do have the Katran Compact (coming soon). On the Compact version of the Katran there is a new stock that looks beefier than the current one. When I held the Katran at Utah Airguns I was impressed, but the stock would (for me) need some getting use to. It will be interesting to see if the high power Katrans adopt the new stock design.

Thanks for the reply Stoti, I will be very interested in whatever news you have. I have it narrowed down to two at this point, and I am going to get something soon. I just got a friend to get get a Uragan (my other choice) for his first pcp and he absolutely loves that. He didn't want to spend time learning and it is a good enough platform that he hasn't had any problems so far.

Blackpaw, yes I saw that compact too, but they aren't saying much openly about the new HP models coming out. I do agree that the thin folding stock is the only thing that I hope that they change. It would seem that a few of the reviewers had a little wobble in theirs so it is probably going to be addressed soon as these guys seem to really be on top of it, for a new company. We'll see.
