I'm think the prices of the new ammo being higher is just to offset the possible cost of production for all of these new pellets. Which, I wouldn't mind, if most consumers didn't just try these and still not be that impressed. I've never been a crazy fan of JSB, not because of bad quality, but because I originally tried the Air Arms pellets, and they have ALWAYS been excellent to shoot in every caliber and wieght that I have tried. They are just a bit too expensive, so I settled with the FX, but I have seen plenty of JSB ammo just having mangled skirts. Currently my favorite due to quality and price is AEA, followed by the FX pellets.I think you're right.....doesn't make sense as the .177 are the same price as the 16-18gr....just a marketing ploy with "Monster Light" name...usually JSB is fantastic with their price to ammo ratio in my opinion for what one gets.
