New Pro Sport .177 issues

Finally received my new Pro Sport .177 today and quite disappointing to say the least. Firstly, the cocking leaver is not in the center of the slot and rubs the side, not a real big deal just annoying for a high quality expensive gun like this. The second is most serious , I looked down the barrel sleeve and was shocked to see a 1/2 inch clear hole all the way to the grooved rifle barrel? There is no shroud in the barrel? Yep, could not believe in. The barrel sleeve is hollow. They must have forgotten to insert the shroud ( not sure if that's the right term) at the factory. Is this something that can be somehow inserted now? This Pro Sport has a reputation of being probably one of the highest quality springer sold today. Air Arms quality control must have been pretty well non existent during the building of this rifle. I cocked it once just to see if the safety would engage and it did. However unlike my TX 200 I realized that this could not be un cocked. I inserter a pellet and fired. It sounded like a 20 gauge shotgun. For anyone who has this gun and wondered what difference the shroud makes, its huge. I assume this will have to be sent back to the dealer. Hope there are no issues with this and they send me a different one . But it certainly is a beautiful air rifle and hope the next one lives up to it's reputation.
