New RAW HM1000X Chassis .22 cal

Hello Ranchibi,

Thank you for this information, I am looking forward to do a lot of shooting and testing with this rifle and your information will help. I haven't shot any pellets through the Crony yet but my target at 105-feet is taking a real beating

Have a great day,
ThomasT
Thomas, you're very welcome! Those 25gr JSB hit so freaking hard! LOL! Have fun shooting your beautiful Rapid!

Hello Ranchibi,

You are so right about the impact. I have been shooting the RAW this morning and had finished shooting a paper target at 30-yards and had one pellet left in the magazine and decided to shoot one of my steel spinners. Man that thing spun like crazy and when it stopped there was no paint left on the face and this is a 1-1/4" disc.

Have a great day,
ThomasT

Thomas, I have 2 hammer springs I can swap out, one is cut for the 18gr pellets and 17.5gr NSA and the other full size sprng is for the 25gr JSB and 20gr NSA.....huge difference in impact and sound, night and day! It's just much more affordable for me to plink almost daily with the mid weight ammo that I RARELY use the heavier ammo. I know the smile it puts on your face each time you pull it's trigger....been smiling for almost 2 years now! LOL!

Hello again Ranchibe,

Yep smiling right now, shot the RAW a lot this morning and ran out of the 25.39 pellets but shot some other weights. In time I will start messing with various tunes but for now I will shoot it as is. Boy those 25's hit my steel target out at 30-yards like a train. I shot one of my 1-1/4" spinners and did not think it was going to stop spinning 😮.

Have a great day,
ThomasT

Hello everyone,

Received the Bipod and the Monopod and got both of them installed. Now I just need some pellets ☹️ and I can start shooting up a bunch of targets. Hopefully by Monday the pellets will be delivered.

My initial assessment of this piece of equipment is that it was designed and built by NASA for the US Military. Just beautiful workmanship, fit and finish, but built like a M1-Tank. So glad to own an air rifle made in the Good Ole USA 🇺🇸

Have a great day,
ThomasT

Beautiful RAW Chassis Thomas! Have you thought about the Gray OPS Arca rail? I got one for the extension it provides for a bipod and other accessories (added 2 short Magpul Arca to picatinny adapters) but it also provides bottle protection...does add a bit of weight but worth it to me. I also added a zero angle grip (MK Machining) which really puts my hand and trigger finger in perfect position for AR platforms.

Hello Ranchibi,

I have looked at them but decided to use the M-Lok to mount the Bipod. The added weight doesn't bother me because the weight helps with the benchrest shooting. I will have a look at the MK grip.

Thanks for the info and have a great day,
ThomasT

Thomas, I made a MISTAKE...sorry....it's Magpuls M-lok to picatinny rail adapters like yours! That's what mounts to the Gray OPS Arca rail. You're welcome!

Hello Ranchibi,

OK, the M-Lok are the ones that I had seen. I really like the secure fit of my Bipod to the M-Lok, there is absolutely no slack or movement.

Thanks again,

Hello everyone,
Received my JSB Jumbo Monster Redesigned 25.39gr pellets in yesterday, believe it or not on Sunday by FedEx, and was able to shoot a few rounds.

This morning I shot a "test target" first and did a bit of fine tuning with the scope. Then I shot a 25-50 Yard Target at 25-Yards and it scored a 192 with 13-X's. Couple of the 9's were really close and then I had some that were off the mark and I believe that was Shooter Error ☹️ . I must think that the new barrel is not seasoned now and hopefully will improve over the next several hundred shoots. I have just under 300 rounds down the barrel at this time.

Have a great day,
ThomasT

Thomas, glad your Redesigns arrived! Those are known for fliers so some of those misses are not yours! Hope you have a pellet sizer or you should acquire one (I have a TTS Stainless Steel one from ebay from the UK). Very nice groups!

Hello Ranchibi,

No I do not have a Pellet Sizer but I guess I need to buy one. I did get to shoot more targets and the grouping was much better.

What size resizer did you get? 22 cal, I presume? My JSB redesigns all head size with Pellet Gauge to 5.54, 5.55 or 5.56

Hello everyone,

OK most likely I should not have even tried this shot today with 10-15 mph face on quartering winds but I just wanted too. The four outside targets are the size of a quarter and the 10-ring on the large inside target is just slightly larger than a dime. It is fun to shoot at a 80-yard target :).

Have a great day,

I got the 5.52mm but, I got it before I purchased my RAW but it works well. How snug is your loading with 5.54 heads? My RAW's barrel NEEDS .2175 inch slug size diameters to be accurate (this size gives the best spin stabilization with slugs) with slugs which is 5.524mm. I'm sure it also translates to better pellet fit as well.

Thomas, superb groups @ 80yds in any crossing winds! You should be proud of those groups. As Ken Hick's told me when I got mine a couple years ago....just keep shooting it! LOL! I know you are! 🤗

Hello Ranchibi,

You know if that had been a squirrel he most likely would have lived to tell a tale, but I am pleased and it put a big smile on my face when a couple dropped into the 10-rings. Oh yeah, with 8-tins of new pellets I will keep on shooting :D

Have a great afternoon,
ThomasT

All three sizes work, but 5.56 seems best. None are very hard to push in - I usually single load. .216 NSA slugs in 23 grain shoot very well. (They are labelled .217, but mic at .216.)

Ha! This shows how each barrel IS DIFFERENT! When I try any slug with a diameter less than .217....my RAW becomes a SHOTGUN! LOL! Have you tried any 20gr NSA? Mine is detuned so 18gr (950fps) pellets and 17.5gr slugs (935fps same tune/HS cut-down) are fed to mine. I also single load mine (slows me down using OEM 3/4 donut loader) unless out pesting/hunting.

These are what I tried at 20 yards indoors (all NSA and all labelled 217 but miked at 216) and ran thru pellet gauge as 5.56.
