Ross, thank you for posting this! I find it intriguing that the 17.5 & 23gr group but not the 20gr! Here is my 17.5gr @ 20yds...two groups, one higher right then the lower left group as I adjusted the turrets. I've found that slugs groups stay the same at longer distances until they start to lose spin which is usually quite a bit past 100yds. These are both 5 shot groups.

Thanks, stock LW poly no choke barrel, I just removed stock Moderator, original carbon fiber sleeve over barrel would turn on barrel by hand so I removed both and permanently installed my own C.F. Sleeve and adapter. When I took that picture I had not attached sleeve yet.

I do have another barrel waiting to be installed (a 10 groove LW )

Groups are ok, not great, but I don’t cherry pic groups! What It shoot’s that day is what I record.

Very nice carbon fiber sleeve you adpated! My sleeve is snug but I've felt others that were easy to turn, I don't think it matters, just for rigidity purposes. Let me know how you like the 10 groove! I've been thinking about a TJ 4 groove non choked.....I think Troy H has some...but my OEM Poly non choked is more accurate than me...LOL!

You are more than welcome to come over to my place and shoot all that you want to with my RAW. I just spoke with Martin about "tuning" my trigger, followed his instructions and it feels PERFECT now.

Hello igolfat8,

Did Martin tell you that your guns will shoot the same with "that" moderator removed. That is the only dislike that I have with my rifle. Hang in there, maybe he will get the guns back to you really quick.

I had the same concerns Thomas and when I asked Martin prior to returning my barrels this was his response:

"Your barrels have arrived, There is nothing wrong in having a threaded adapter on the end, you will find the rifles perform much better with a moderator than without, so as long as you are fitting one it will be fine."

He was a bit backed up with other work and quoted me an approximate 3 week turnaround and I'm only half way there :cry: so In the mean time I'm getting my "lead therapy" with my Avenger and RTI PPC but its just not the same experience as shooting my RAW and I am sure you and others get that?

Thank you, it appears the "brand" or "style" of moderator does not make any difference as long as you use one.

My RAW is shooting so good great I am afraid to make any changes. Please share whatever information you find after receiving the barrels back and you have a chance to shoot them.

And yes I understand the need to shoot the RAW. Even though I plan to shoot my Crown most of today, I have already set up the RAW for a mag or two.

I know you'll be dealing with severe withdrawals....maybe we can start a RAW anonymous program.....LOL! I feel your pain!

Hello Ranchibi,

That is a great idea, I have some distilled branch water that we can administer to the patient, trust me, being without a rifle is no longer a problem 🥴.

LOL! I go into withdrawals from not being able to shoot my RAW when I go on vacation or the weather is not cooperating, I start shaking, talk to myself (I do this all the time normally)....😳....LOL!
