NEW Replacement 392 from Crosman, appears to have an "R" stamped on Barrel.

***UPDATE***

I did call crosman and they apologized for the mix up and are sending me a shipping label to mail the "R" stamped gun back for a NEW one.

Thanks for every ones help

------------------------------------------

I got a brand new Benjamin 392 which had rust on the air piston rod and head. it also had a forearm aliment issue.

I sent it back to crosman and it just arrived with a note that says Replaced.

I looked at the serial number and right next to it it looks like someone has stamped an "R" on to it.

The crosman website says it is out of stock on 392's so is this a refurbished gun and thats why theres an "R"?

On the other side of the breach there is a flaw with the power coating.

My question is is this an "R" stamped on the gun and if so what does it mean?

Perhaps that they won't replace it again.....one and done per customer.

Just a guess.

I have a Armada that has been replaced and a Bulldog that had work done on it and they both came back with no R Stamped on them so I don't know. and the warrantee is a unlimited 1 year so one and done doesn't seam right.

I am reading on line that it probably means Refurbished and if it does I will be a little mad because mine was brand new, I never even shot it and I expected to get a new one back.

I bought a new 392 a couple of months ago, and it's got the smoothest trigger I've ever experienced, and is the smoothest rifle, air or fire, that I've ever shot! Extremely accurate at fifteen yards. I say this so that folks won't think that all 392's are junk.

To address the OP's issues, I'd suggest calling Customer Service as spysir has suggested...that's the only way to get a definitive answer.

I had one recently and it had a terrible trigger which with considerable effort I was able to adjust but I never got it to shoot accurately enough for my use. Pumping gets old. Spend the money get a good springer and never look back.

Lol I picked it up the same day I got my RWS 460.

I just like shooting a viariaty of air guns, it keeps things interesting and challenging.

Good to hear, hopefully your next one will be a winner. Do they still over spray the inside of the barrels? That , should, be the only possible issue.

Things do happen and crosman sells a lot but they are consistently number one in customer service/warranty as well as parts availability and price.

Post a review when it's all worked out.
