Tuning New rifle-broke

I spoke too soon , loosing air @ 200psi per 24 hrs. I still cannot make phone contact with Velocity-outdoors no matter what time of day I make call. Very frustrating to say the least. Boy i have learned a lot though and have made some great contacts on this site. I tried emailing co. again see if I can get an answer on where we go from here.

If it only drops 200psi in the first 24 hours then stops then there is nothing to worry about.

If you get progressive leak every day by just sitting and not shooting it then-

Time to isolate the leak. Put a balloon tight over the barrel with a rubber band.

Spray soapy water at the manometer threads and fill nipple on gun see where air bubbles or if the balloon airs up.

Crosmans first question to you will likely be where exactly is it leaking from?

You will have your answer.

If its leaking at the bottle threads where it screws into the gun you need to totally empty the air from the gun in order to successfully tighten the bottle.

Remove it from the stock to spray soapy water and be sure to fill ot to 3000psi b4 doing all of this to be able to see immediate leak bubbles or balloon trick you must fill it full 3000psi first.

Not only did i make contact with Benjamin but they are sending out new bleeder screw to replace leaker. To all: when you get that annoying menu of which dept. you want by pressing #1 or 2 and on and on let them go thorough the whole menu and finish before you punch the #----Da ! You all were correct great people to work with and very helpful. Could not find leaks any where except bleeder screw and no matter what I tried (Teflon tape etc. would not stop leaking). Woke up and checked it this morning and it had loss over 600psi over night so eradiate to boot. Should have new screw by tomorrow. Hopefully snow will have stopped by then also.

They are very kosher. If need be, you can send in the rifle if this doesn't resolve it. They are extremely helpful.

Since you live in Idaho, and I live in Montana, we will both have similar issues with o-rings in cold weather. The weather in both our locations can be colder than Buna rubber o-rings were designed to handle, and I have had issues with cold weather induced air leaks. Never had an issue yet in hot weather except for a worn out o-ring on the pellet probe. You might want to review what I just posted under the Thread "BSA Lonestar .25 leaky valve fix" and see if it might apply to you. This can happen even with a new rifle in extreme cold weather colder that what Buna o-rings were designed to handle. From what I found on the internet, Buna o-rings are good down to about -10F, but the weather here lately has been colder than that, and my Lonestar developed a cold related leak just like it did last year.

However, my issue did not come up until my rifle was several years old. And remember, PCP air rifles will need the o-rings to be oiled on a regular basis unless you want air leaks to develop. Many PCP owners do not perform this routine maintenance, and your rifle may have shipped with dry o-rings and/or had a long cold soak in transit to your location.
